I'm looking for a way/tool to change my IP address to that of a specific city. I have a paypal account that was created and primarily used in a different city than my own and I don't want to get locked out by logging in from a totally different city.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should look for openVpn software if you want to hide your IP address. You can also use public or private proxies to hide your actual IP.

Why would paypal lock you out if you're logging in from another city or another IP? Sounds like total nonsense to me. I can login to paypal from my work, it's a total different ip as the one I created my paypal account from.

To deter hackers and fraudulent activity. I have to verify my logins by phone whenever I try to access mine from a different IP.

If you login from a proxy or VPN address to a paypal account, that's a surefire way of having it locked.

Just login from whatever IP address you currently have, and if you are locked out, contact them and inform them why your IP changed.

In this situation, honesty is the best policy. PayPal makes it their job to route out proxy and vpn connections due to potential fraud.

That ain't true. For my experience, PayPal will NOT block your account if you're using a VPN. I am always using a VPN connection to login on my PayPal account and never got blocked.

Agreed. I have travelled to a number of countries including some so-called high risk areas and have had no problem at all over several years. Personally I think it would be more risky to use HMA IP's etc that they would get to know about....
Worst they will do is ask you to verify or have to give them a call in my opinion.

If you keep login in from different IPS in a short period of time then yes, they will block you. (security measure)

Else, it won't happen
