I just registered my first .us.org domain.
It's brand new but when I check the DA it's 87!
Any ideas why this is?

I think its Root domain authority. Actually you bought a sub domain.

Perhaps it was registered before. Did you check Wayback Machine and backlink profile?

Nope. Brand new. If DA means anything in the SEO world this is a big head start.

It doesn't mean anything, believe me.

So really all of these sales threads selling stuff on high DA domains mean nothing or these new domains don't get taken into account.

OP its Root domain authority, Not your domain. :) You need to check PA of your domain as it count as sub domain of us.org. May be i am wrong.

DA/PA can easily be manipulated with spam, so it's not really a reliable metric. Besides that it seems more and more outdated these days (at least to me).

Obviously I know that.:p My PA is nothing at the moment as it's new. Just throws a question mark on all of these people selling high DA stuff.

you can use these domains for churn burn project.
