I'm unable to post links yet but google the title on arstechnica. com

it ain't that bad

Amazon has sued Gentile for trademark violations, because he used Amazon logos on his website, as well as false advertising and cybersquatting. The company says his website violates the Washington state consumer protection act.

The lawsuit claims Gentile ran BuyAzonReviews.com, and it names John Doe defendants as the owners of three other domain names it believes are related: buyamazonreviews.com, bayreviews.net, and buyreviewsnow.com. BuyAzonReviews.com has been taken down, but the other sites remain up.

I tend to disagree with that.

Amazon is entitled to recover Defendants' profits, actual damages and costs
in an amount to be proven at trial or statutory damages of up to $100,000 per domain
name, treble damages, attorneys' fees and transfer of the infringing domain names to Amazon.

Amazon probably follows some of the Amazon threads on BHW, just as Wikipedia was revealed to be aware of a BH thread that explained how to get backlinks on their site. At this point, the big boys do know about where the best ideas and services for gaming their systems are coming from.

if you don't know anything about the law of course u would think that's bad, its a civil suit...people get sued everyday, it could have been a criminal case for fraud from the FTC

Even if he was still sued while being located overseas the amount he could lose would be a fraction of a US civil suit.
