I am a game developer and create iOS and Android apps. I am currently on freelancer/elance but I can't get a job(new profile no one gives me a shot). My prices are low imo its $500 for both iOS and Android for simple 2D games. I have tried releasing my own games but it doesn't really go far(about $5 a month). Anyone have any tips for me? or could point in a different direction?

What I was thinking is opening a affiliate service if people refer me clients I give them a cut. Any tips on how to do this? Is there a site that handles affiliate for services?

Thanks for your time!

You can contact mahan_eesh on this forum.
I got an offer for JV with him which i couldn't continue.
As an Android Game Developer, you can contact him for the offers.

keep trying on odesk, all it takes is one good review to become trusted and get loads more orders

yea I will keep trying for sure. But I don't think it takes 1 review as there is like 15+ other freelancers on the same post with 50+ reviews so I doubt even If I do get my 1st review I will get loads of orders when there is this much competition.

I will try the JV.

@aBoss can you message me some of your games may be i can help if you have some good Games

I sent you a PM
still looking for other ways

How about JV with someone who knows how to monetise the apps?

This is without a doubt your best option if you are making good fun games. Find someone that can be your partner and actually promote your game and get it to go viral.

I tried the joint venture thing and had 0 success. I dont really like relying on a partner. Its hard to find a serious hard working person these days.

I am still on freelancer and business is slow or none
Any other ways?

How exactly are you providing a proposal to potential clients? Whilst I can't speak for Freelancer, I know been a new Worker via Elance isn't a problem if you approach the bidding process differently. A great way to set yourself apart from the competition is to invest in a decent webcam (if you don't have one already) and submit your proposal via a video message. Ensure you understand the employers requirements and relay this in the video, explain how you will complete the work to a very high standard and how your previous experience is relevant for this particular project.

Don't follow the crowd and set yourself apart, you'll be surprised with the results.

Didn't read comments, but when you suck as a marketer, you should prolly make a JV with one...

Can I see your games? I also develop games and apps (currently working on mobile game). May be I can help you if I like your work.

You can always post news curation inside the app and have an additional Banner system and donation/upgrades to add additional streams instead of just being freemium.

Free models are designed to make the next big thing or simply one hit wonders.

Don't ever rely on 1 individual stream, if you do you will sacrifice a lot.

I'm no programmer but I made an angry bird clone in a week that netted me $600 in adsense ads. In my experience you either need to have really good marketing strategy or fly along grabbing the tails of the latest fad.

One sure thing is though that the first 2 weeks are important as it's only during that time that you can get into the top new charts. If you don't make that chart then you'll have no chance as you'll be charted with every other app including candy crush, game of war etc

I'm a freelancer . How can I use the video-hives item for an end product for many clients?

can you PM me your angry bird clone and did you get on the top new chart? lmk how you marketed please
