thanks in advance

good metrics, clean link profile and check archieves.org to see if the site was real(non spammy) that's it.

The main purpose of selecting drop domains is to build authority websites.
So keep some point in mind while selecting drop domains,
Penalty analysis
DA

When choosing an expired domain, you should assure the following requirement MUST be fulfilled:
1. No SPAM backlinks profile (no bl from China, Japan, Korea, Russia, No sex, no Pharmacy)
2. TF, CF > 15 (use MajesticSEO to check)
3. DA, PA >20 (use Moz to check)
4. Check archive.org to see if there were any real contents added under this domain in the past?
If you wanna buy expired domain, let me know

These are the steps we do for our service here : http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...domains-da-10-40-tf-0-20-priced-low-10-a.html

  1. Make sure DA is more than 10 and Trustflow more than 7 (Ideally, you want more than 15). We use 7 because I've seen some great domains pass through that have low TF, but have great backlinks for specific niches so we've kept them there.
  2. Check MajesticSEO Anchors and make sure that all anchors are in english (No Chinese, Russian characters). Also make sure all anchors are safe for work (e.g. no penis pills, viagra, obvious spam).
  3. Check the Top links, and go to those pages to check what sort of context they were posted. If it's all blog comment spam, don't buy the domain. If it's contextual links (e.g. articles linking to the domain), then it's much much better. There can be a fine line on this, but use your instinct.
  4. Ideally pick something in your niche. Something that is close to what you are doing. It doesn't have to be identical, but it should target the same sort of demographic. e.g. Would this site under normal circumstances ever link to you? If you're site is selling say snowboards, then you could buy any domain that is about extreme sports or even sports in general as it would make sense it linking to a snowboard site.
  5. If you are intending on recreating the site, then check Archive.org to see what sort of pages you may need to recreate. If it not, and you are going to 301 the entire domain, it's less important.
