BIG DOG Instagram Journey

You can safely do 400 follows and you can increase the likes too

Do you recommend any alternate avenues to drive traffic based on your experience. Perhaps Twitter sister account?

I've been there, done that when it comes to Twitter. Might not be a bad idea but not really looking to do anything there.

I think your settings in FL are quite low. Do you run the bot on a VPS? If so, set the delays to 90-100 and you can follow 500-600, like 500-600 too (with slightly lower delay for likes).

I may look at increasing my FL settings in a bit. The problem is for now some of the accounts have less than 10 photos on them, and I'm sure that will affect my ability to get followers. So over the next few days I'll be adding more photos to get the total up without scaring off any followers I already have.

FL has been a bit buggy for me lately, I think I finally have the kinks worked out. I really just need to work on downloading a ton of content for each account so it truly achieves autopilot status. I will only update follower counts weekly here, not worth wasting my time doing the addition right now...

Has anybody used GrowingIG? I signed up for an account with them and since then I have been averaging around 150 followers a day using their automated liking, commenting, and following/unfollowing.
I spoke to the gent via email and he explained that they use dedicated proxies and a dedicated VPS for every account.

Any "social focused" business that does not have links to their own social accounts but instead # links...I tend to steer clear of. Rather wait till they gain a following

- Just my personal opinion

Yes for sure increase the settings slowly at the same time you keep posting pictures and gaining authority.

Well if you are a BH social media service a whitehat social following of your own isn't really the greatest marketing strategy...
But I wouldn't use them anyway since it wouldn't give me much control of my accounts.

Anyway I've almost set all the content up for my accounts. I just need to find content for 2 more. When I say "find content", I mean download and curate hundreds of photos for the long term. Until then I'm just finding 10-12 at a time to post for a few days. FollowLiker has been really crappy for me lately though, keeps crashing and stuff.

Also did an interesting split test and found out it is best to leave my $300 username account private, as it gains a lot more followers that way.

Im bookmarking this thread and I don't do that often I usually just lurk. Definitely want to see how this pans out. I can't believe that some people actually think a OG username doesn't matter. It definitely does and if its a good username 1m+ followers will be easy.

Having trouble getting the posting down for FL, the bot seems to be ignoring my delay settings, I'll post a thread in the IG section to see if i can get it fixed...

So was gone all day yesterday and didn't get this up in time. Accounts going a little slower than desired, but it is going to be slower at first. There are 41 weeks left in 2015, which means I need to average ~24,000 followers per week. Obviously growth will be exponential, not linear though.

The main account is growing very fast, and pretty much was the only account that gained more than 300 followers. Account 2 will be trying a strategy where I don't even post from it, I just keep it private (but I'll get post count up to like 40-50), then I will like and follow. I'll try to get people to follow me just because it has a cool username. The other accounts are doing alright, I just got posting fixed for accounts 3 and 4, so now I'll actually post photos from them. Account 5 I think will be great once I can actually get more than 1k followers on it so the ratio doesn't look so bad.

Right now the first 4 days of a week are following, then the last 3 are unfollowing back down to 0. The goal is to keep a high as possible FB ratio, but I think the simultaneous following/unfollowing looks a bit suspicious to instagram, so I'm separating the processes a bit.

FL still being erratic with posting. Until I get it figured out growth might take a toll on accounts 2-4, they seem to be growing a bit slower right now...

Looks very good I like you tactic
instead of following 10000 ppl with FL you do it the s,art way and stay away from crazy setting and spammy XX__FITU_POOP usernames and F4F tags
Doing it the smart way:) wish you great LUCK!!

FL is garbage when it comes to posting photos. It deleted all of my settings and accounts, hopefully I can figure it out soon.

This week was bad in that FL did not allow me to post as much as I would have liked. The main account is growing strong and the likes per pic is up to 800-1000. I'm 90% sure I have things set up so that FL will post when I want it to now. I will also try to beef up likes and follows, since I'm not being too aggressive as of now. The goal for the next week is to gain 5,000+.

I'll also be doing a test to see what my exact follow back ratio is on my main account. I'm just curious to see what it actually is. My guess is that it is around 30%.

FL still having issues this week, I think it's because I simply can't have multiple instances running, I'll test just one instance with all 3 modes tomorrow and see what happens.

But I did my test for my follow back percentage on my main account. I followed 500 people and manually counted from my followers how many followed back, and it far surpassed my expectations.

Out of the 500 people I followed, 255 followed me back. 255! That means my follow back percentage is 51%, which is pretty good. So if you want to boost your follow back percentage, a good username certainly seems to help with that...

I am routing for your success! Please keep sharing. I have read the thread closely. Most pros do not take kindly to newb qns so please forgive or disregard if my questions are too insipid or already addressed: 1. Do you use the unfollow tactic; follow then unfollow after a few days weeks? 2. What are your most aggressive settings: please address, daily running schedule window, age of account, unfollows (if you do) and number # of comments per day, over "aged" accounts vs. "new(er)" account(s) 3. Are you using proxies, either way explain why or why not. My guess is not because you have only 5 accounts.... 4. Under "Scrape user settings" do you use the hashtag symbol or not before the hashtag? 5. Under "Scrape photo settings" do you use the hashtag symbol or not before the hashtag? 6. Are any of your accounts "business"/"daily job" accounts? Many thanks! All the best and I have subed.

Really I'm almost a newbie at aggressive Instagram methods myself.

1. I just upped my follows from 200-250 to 350-400 a day, so I'm going a bit more aggressive now. I follow that many users up until I get to about 1,000 on each account. I feel like following 1k+ hurts your follow back percentage, once I hit around 1k, I simply unfollow 450-500 a day (for 2 days), and I'm back down to 0. So it's 2-3 days of following, then I unfollow for 2 days. I like photos during both phases.

2. I guess I just explained that, but I also like 450-500 photos a day. But really I never surpass 1000 actions a day.

3. Proxies, I have some high quality proxies I use for 4 of the accounts on FollowLiker, I keep my best account off proxy, and I do everything manually (no bot), just to be safe. The only way I would consider not using a proxy is if I could find IPs at like a college campus or busy place where thousands of Instagram accounts are logged into at various times. These places also provide dynamic IPs usually so you aren't logging in with the same IP all the time.

4. I don't scrape user from tags, I just follow the followers of other, related accounts. Right now my photo scraping queries are "#tag", but I plan to eventually find a better way to scrape photos that gives better results. It can't easily be done in FL and may take more work though.

5. Answered this above.

6. Like in the business and job niches? No. At first glance that would be a tough niche. Selling apps to kids is the easiest way to make money on IG, other niches like sports, clothing, etc, hold more potential, but there needs to be significant strides made in the mobile purchase/check out processes before people are always buying stuff from social networks on their phones. IG may have features in teh works, but their availability to people like us is not exactly known. It's just hard to see why people would look on IG for job related stuff, I do have a luxury account, if that's close enough.

seriously nice journey mate.. I am also trying this.. but I am just focusing on 1 account..
