My Subdomain Got Slolen

I've had a subdomain through dot tk for about 2 years now.I've been building backlinks and my alexa ranking was dropping fast.I went to my site yesterday and there was another adult site using my subdomain.I clicked on it later on and my site was back up.Now its just gone.So I went to my dot tk account and all my subdomains were gone.That just sux because that is years of work down the drain.Now i'm right back to square one.

From the way I understand subdomains they are just an offshoot of the main domain and could be remade pretty easily.

Since you own the main domain like
whatever.com

You could remake
twitter.whatever.com

Not 100% sure on that b/c I don't really use it but I thought thats how it works.

If I am not mistaking you didn't pay for the .tk domain. I believe they cancel the domains if you didn't use the domain or login for few days.

This is exactly what I was wondering as well, dot.tk is so junky, at least from my experience, seems you would benefit much more registering a proper .com domain. Even .info would be better than dot.tk in my honest opinion.

I've never had problems with them for 2 years now.And my subdomains started getting good traffic and I guess it became desired and they sold it,or my account could have gotten hacked and they deleted my sites and they picked them up another site.And the funny thing it was an adult site.Now theres a different adult site....Pretty shady.

But i've always used sub-domains.There free.

Right now, GoDaddy.com has .info domains for only 1$ - There's alot out there too.

wonder why you put so much effort on subdomain you can't own for long term?

if you are doing all those backlinks on your own domain you won't have this issue now.

..and I have never seen a dot.tk on any first page in google. Imagine how much traffic you would have gotten if it had been a TLD. A dot.info even would have been better IMO.

But I feel for your loss, dont waste time dwelling over it get another if thats your preference and start again.

Didn't u make backups of your domain....ask your hosting company...maybe they make auto backups...so you can restore.

I don't feel so bad about losing it now.I've got the original blogger domains alexa rank past my dot tk now,so it worked out for the best.

dont drop your tk domain, instead make a 301 redirect to a new domain...

do this before you are completely hijacked.

My dot tk is gone...It got jacked somehow.But its no biggie,i'm in the good with my blog url.
