Good method. Funny because I was thinking of doing something like this recently.
You should for sure give it a whirl!

I see the Verge did a story on this last week.... some guy made a million buying from Alibaba and running his store like ebay

Anyone considering taking action on this method could maybe read this thread http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...pping-done-right-spoon-fed-long-detailed.html
Mix the two and with a little thought you could come up with your own twist on the whole idea.
I bulk buy in advanced and ship directly - the suggestion of reshipping is just for those without startup capital.

Finding items that will sell then buying them in bulk is totally different from what you're suggesting. How long have you been doing this Etsy reselling specifically? People expecting a $30 item and receiving a $1 item does not bode well for your feedback, especially on Etsy. Not saying it's impossible, but finding those products that you can mark up so much is very rare. And buying them in bulk puts you in the hole immediately if you're a beginner and can't unload your inventory. No returns to Chinese factories...
Importing and reselling is very profitable but there is a lot of exaggeration here... mainly how "easy" it is to source products that aren't complete trash and the act of actually getting people to the page and convincing them to buy. Definitely possible to make a lot of money (esp. on Amazon) but not by just blindly looking at Aliexpress pictures and popping the products up on an Etsy page.

and I've had a lot of accounts with terrible feedback that I've churned through.
It's against etsy's rules to do what you're recommending. The women on etsy are fierce detectives. They will find your product and report you, and etsy will suspend you. It's not for mass produced items. It's supposed to be for handmade. Regarding vintage-no one is going to buy vintage if it's not vintage. I have been selling vintage jewelry for 25 years. Collectors of vintage jewelry aren't stupid. We won't even get into the silver fraud that is out there. Other countries are filled with 925 jewelry that is not really sterling. Many jewelry customers test their jewelry, especially when their ears blow up like blowfish because they are allergic to costume. There are so many things wrong with your post. I don't see how you make $800 a week with this.
Now the truth comes out.
You do have a point. But we're in blackhatworld. Methods posted here usually bend the rules and are probably non-compliant in regards to a site's TOS.
At the very least, there's nothing illegal about this method. Just more of an ethical issue.
Just my 2 cents.![]()

Absolutely
While looking over your shop, I found that some of your items are listed in the Handmade category. I'm concerned that these items may not qualify to be sold as Handmade on Etsy. As a result, your account has been suspended, and I'm contacting you to learn more about how your items are made.
Please complete the following questions in the next two weeks. Any information you supply will be kept completely confidential, but please note that providing false information may result in the termination of your account privileges.
Step 1:
Explain how you run your business and who is involved in the design and creation of your items:
1) What is your role in the business? What does your day to day look like?
2) If you have hired employees, what are their names and what is their role in your business?
3) Where are you and the members of your shop located?
Step 2:
Explain your Handmade process. Imagine you?re teaching someone to make the item listed below. Please write out ? in as much detail as possible ? the steps you use to create the following item:
(image of some item on your store)
Step 3:
Document your Handmade process. Please attach photographs of the steps you described above. In all of the images you attach, please include a piece of paper displaying your username and the date.
Specifically, I?ll need to see images of:
-The workspace, tools, and equipment you use to make the items in your shop.
-The raw materials or supplies you use to create your items.
-The step-by-step process you use to create the item specified in Step 2.
Once I hear back from you with this information, I'll promptly review it to determine if your items can be sold as Handmade on Etsy. I understand that your Etsy shop is your business, and I'd like to work with you to get it back online as soon as possible.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this process. I look forward to hearing from you.
