It's 2015. Can we stop using the term "Web 2.0"?

Doesn't web 2.0 mean that it's a website where users can interact with the website and make changes? So web 1.0 was something like static websites. Web 2.0 are sites where the visitor can contribute. I don't know what web 3.0 could be.. it could have been something like several users changing content in real time and see all what has been modified by other users.. but it still kinda falls under the definition of web 2.0.

No it's not web 2.0 relates to user generated content and site interaction making the web a living beast rather than the static creature it used to be.

The last I read about web 3.0, it is supposed to be the 3rd generation of the Internet where the Internet will actually understand the information. There were also several other theories regarding the response of websites.
 
Web 3.0 is the semantic web.... an example is what google is doing... trying to understand what you mean by connecting associations between terminology...

That's my understanding of Web 2.0 too. Whatever it refers to though, the definition is still valid for web properties that fall under the definition.

As far as Web 3.0, I think it's already here.

The internet of things is happening, we have wearables, virtual reality, Smart Glasses, accurate geo-positioning, live language translation and a lot more - I think once all those things combine seamlessly and it all just happens automatically in the background, that's the next evolution of the web.
 
web 3.0's is cool. It would update a bunch of sales threads, and make engineers of our favorite search stop for a second to wonder wtf are web 3.0's
 
In 100 years, Google obviously will be pushing Racoon v2115 and web 2.0 will be still working. A lot more shocking than webX 21.15 and they may give up a lot before then.
 
I will say NO to this statement.. .because my web 2.0 is working

Remember needing to do a whole essay on web 2.0 for my business course, would be happy to never hear the term again!
 
I prefer Inter-webs Based Content Whore. but Web 2.0 is shorter.
