so i am planning on setting up a dating site, i already have the knowledge to set one up but i am still searching for the best methods
to get this site known to the audience.

So my question here goes to anyone having experience in this who can share some tips or toughts about this.

Im not asking to get spoonfed by anyone but just some keypointers or where to start building an audience would help me out alot already.

I would have to agree with labs8vivek. Also, to help promote maybe you could hand out fliers at near-by colleges, or hang them up if you don't feel comfortable handing them out.

Dummy profiles are already being taken care off, its really just a matter of spreading this dating site around, yh i can find some ppl to hand out flyers hmm

You should spam the site with a fake affiliate account. I receive some spam mails like, "I saw your facebook profile and like you, visit me...."
do it for some millions of emails and you will get traffic for sure

tbh i'd say do something else. i'm 95% sure that your site is going to flop.
I'm not hating or anything but you dont even have a steady traffic source and i doubt you have atleast 200k to pay for advertising.

If i were in your position i would start with a simple whitelabel. Do you get alot of signups and paid memberships? Copy the shit out of that website and make your own.

EDIT: And spamming people about your dating site...Sure might bring some short-term money but it would also make your brand look fake and shitty.

i know some one who paid some one to make 5k female profiles on his site and 1k male profiles paid a furtune spent 8k on advertising and the website floop badly left him in dept and a lot of people didnt spend that much yet have sucesdd its about luck and what you doing and how your doing it but most definatly you must create fake female profiles alot to get started the spam the shit out of people on instagram use pages for shout out use microjobs.com to get fake sign ups which can cost like $0.10 per sign up

If you're in doubt how to get this off the ground, then by all means try some other niche first.

This is probably one of the top 10 most saturated niches out there.

Too many dating sites on the net... you can succeed only with around 100k to invest, and here Im saying the minimum what you need to invest nowadays... Few years ago it was easier but today with all that social networks and authority dating websites is very hard...

I would only go for a dating site if I had a lot of experience and an innovative idea to stand out from the rest.. You're going to have a really hard time with all the competition, who spend thousands to succeed and most probably operate at a loss.

Having a well-designed online dating site will not guarantee you success if you don't attract members to sign-up in your site. So try to make an effort to make it known to the public. Do the traditional advertising, seo,article marketing etc..

I disagree with other guys out there who believe this is not good niche to start - adult niche is one that automatically get traffic if you do some SEO work or give social signal to that. So read google or start digging other sites to know about this and KEEP YOUR WORK GOING ON!

This sounds pretty effective to me if you set the emails persuasive enough.

Its quite optimistic of you to create and compete as a dating site with those huge gamers in this field already.

Email/Social media spam will be very effective, as already suggested by tvm77.

Make mobile apps, Tinder is very widely popular. I guess you're making in some kind of narrow niche, right? Not the general dating?

Anyone willing to mentor someone in this niche? I have a 5-letter .com that I ran as a whitelabel for a while and received signups, still receive a modest affiliate check every couple months. I never really had the time to focus on the site, I was very busy in my personal life, but with very little work it stood on its own and had potential. I'm thinking so hard about revisiting this and putting it back online.

There are white label options out there which will give you a member database to get started with. But you'll then need to go really hard on social media to get traffic.
