Public Proxies vs Scrapebox?

Hey folks,

Scrapebox newbie here -- I've decided that as my site portfolio starts to get fatter, I need to start learning tools with which to manage it. I purchased Scrapebox today and have been reading tutorials (specifically here ), but have run into a perplexing issue -- the default public proxy sources yield just a few Google-passed servers, and by the time Scrapebox is done harvesting a list, the good proxies are dead! I've tried using a few daily-updated source from BHW, but those yield about the same results.

The suggestion for scraping seems to be a unanimous 'use public proxies' -- but what do most people use as a public proxy source? Do they buy them? Subscribe to a daily public proxy blast? I need these for scraping only, I won't be doing any commenting shenanigans.

I use private proxies for scraping or services like proxy rack, reverse proxies, solid proxies etc... that allow ip rotation to void bans. Bandit IM is about to launch Proxy Bandit which also looks good for this.

All that said, if I was going to use just regular public proxies I would buy them, its worth paying someone a few bucks to do the work. You have to bear in mind that Scrapebox has literally tens of thousands of users, so those public proxy sources are hammered quite hard. So you would want to come up with your own sources, or pay someone to give you lists.

OR

You could just try out the scrapebox 2.0 beta and use their cloud proxies. They have cloud proxies that they scrape 24/7 and prefilter them and then Scrapebox can directly download them and use them. Also best of all its free.

Hey loopline, thanks for the reply -- I installed and attempted to use the new Beta version of Scrapebox, according to your video here... though every time I attempt to run using 'server proxies,' I get no results and many errors. Are the cloud servers you mentioned currently inoperable, per the beta period?:

Don't use public proxies, just buy them. They are cheap and worth it.

No but they are being used by all other beta users, errors in general are normal as many of the ips will be blocked. Are you scraping google or what engine?

Try a few different engines as a test and see what happens?

Also are you using basic keywords, or are you using advanced operators?

You can also add in your list some proxies like the one from the Hidester Public Proxy List, working good for me in Socks 4/5

Public proxies you can get for free from sites like proxyfire . In the forum section you have all types of public proxies you need from HTTP to socks.

You can use Public proxies but it's always a struggle and really a waste of your time in the long run. Better to just pay $10 and get some private/shared proxies.

I mostly use private proxies for scraping.
I buy proxies ate cheap rates according to my profit in previous month and use proxies for scraping.
