Creating a PBN with new domain?

I understand that most of the value of using aged domains in a PBN is that it already has link juice that can more or less be passed to your moneysite quickly. But to diversify a little I was thinking of creating some niche specific brand new websites that I could use as part of a network and also use in my sales funnel. I would create traditional PBNs as well but am interested to see what some here think. To create link juice I'd use link pyramids with FCS Networker and GSA and maybe a few BHW packages. I'd also add plenty of content as well and social signals. Obviously it would take much more time than a standard PBN (using ages domains) but wouldn't also be safer in the longrun?

Any thoughts?

Not a good idea in my opinion. And what made you think that using a new domain is safer? if you know what you're doing, nothing can beat using an aged domain.

Blending in some new domains in a PBN is actually a good idea in many cases... we do that for a few of the ones we own. It may not be "effective" SEO as in link juice power but it does keep google from seeing your site only getting links from aged domains.

It'd have the same effect as having backlinks from relevant web 2.0's in terms of ranking.

The reason why we build PBNs from expired domains is to leverage the authority it holds and in case of a new domain, there is no authority so you'd have to dedicate more resource on the new domains too to increase it's authority. It might be a good investment in the long-run but there are hundreds of domains expiring everyday on any given niche so why not pick them up instead of building from the ground up?

As boats said, it may help from getting under the Google's radar though.

Could a few well built from scratch quality sites eventually develop enough authority to provide link juice? If done well enough could they survive long enough to provide juice to a broader array of money sites down the road?

Still, I presume the payback is not worth the effort vs finding or buying aged domains and why this is so popular.

I have heard that depending on the competition, a PBN even with newly crafted sites arranged can quickly own a category. Some people claim these would be useful in chasing local seo. I think the analogy of the newer sites being the subs, cruisers, etc... of your seo navy, while a carrier or battleship is the old domain in that category with little baggage.
