All Penguin Updates Were Completely Rolled Back Last Night

Allow the OP a bit of poetic license - maybe not every single penguin refresh but I agree that definitely some have been rolled back. Since this appears to be global, much more likely a roll back rather than a time penalty expiring. Got some domains which were buried in 2012 making a huge comeback, so I think we are dealing with at least a roll back of penguin 1.0

OK, One of my penguin 1 affected site is back. Not today as OP suggested but couple of days before itself it is close to where it was. I don't think it is a roll back.

BTW, It is my tier1.

I took all Powerful links out maybe that's is why it on 10th and 12th position now. Will put those links back again and see what happens

A penguin rollback? So we can spam 100% exact match anchors now? Cause a rollback would mean that the rules of the algo don't apply no more.

if that's the case then let's get this party started!

I've had several sites which were manually penalized in 2012 reappear around 100-200, but the manual penalties haven't been removed. Weird, in itself.
But so far the only massive change involving my own sites reappearing in the top ten involves an adult site that was never penalized. When it reappeared out of nowhere, I looked and saw that G has stopped "forcing" authority sites to rank in the top 50 for some major adult terms, and is allowing affiliate/direct sales sites to rank again. For the last two years, the top 50 for these terms has been almost exclusively related articles from authority sites, but now "real" sites which give the searcher what they're looking for are back dominating the SERPs. Don't know how long it will last but it's nice to see.

No movements for 30% of my sites.
My sites Ranked with PBNs moved UP.
Mixed Results for Sites Ranked with Pure Spam. 2 of them moved to page 1 (pure gsa), 1 of them disappeared hahah.

they just want to show these owners, who did not purchase adwords how much traffic they are losing each day. So they bring them back for some time and then will "punish" again :) Sth like "I will show you a sweet and then hide it saying: you have to pay for it" ;)

Something is going on but the results are not conclusive enough to dust up that copy of GSA and blast the crap out of the Money site.

Just wondering who is going to open a thread tomorrow, with similar title....and day after tomorrow and so on

yes bhw should make stickies threads for each day of the week ;)
just to make the forum more clean from " update of the day"

All three of my clients paying to recover from Penguin 3.0 recovered, both sites back to where they were originally.

IMHO this is the refresh for sites that got caught in Penguin 3.0 and had actively looked to clean up / disavow all the spam links.

I based my clean-up on my case study, taking out crap directory / social bookmark links.

Unless something weird is also at play here, I'd say it worked.

Seems to me like they're pooping their pants with Bing getting a larger share of the market, and are buttering up webmasters by lessening their stance on Penguin.

Either that, or they've stopped penalizing sites for having spam links (that they know of), but the ones they don't know of could be ranking the old penalized sites.

It seems to me that they have running some scheme and pulling back most of sites which got hit by penguin last year getting recovered. Looks to me that Manual links gaining some position again.

I first described this as a roll back, then I didn't, then I did, then I didn't, and now I do.

I think the point, quite clearly, is that I have absolutely no idea what is going on, except that in every niche that I operate, I've been a beneficiary of this last week of 'tweaking'.

Getting absolutely the same, seems like with every tweak people report, my main websites just get higher, hope they keep doing it LOL.
But as I said before, I still think they trying to do something about negative seo.
My main website was negatively seo'd but now it's coming back, all I do is keep getting quality links to it and ignore all the spam created by some morons.

Personally i get in top many of sites promoted by "massive posting", those sites was made only for short benefits, but now i get a lot of traffic from them again!
Also as test i have spammed few sites registered 4-5 years ago and never spammed before, and i don't see any penalty on them for now...
