Waking up early in the morning during winter/autumn is one hell of a job.. Tried to wake up at 5AM for the past few weeks and I failed miserably, sometimes I wake up with the alarm, turn it off and go back to sleep in my warm bed and sometimes I don't even remember turning off the alarm, LOL.

But now I'm getting tired of this, I tried and failed, and now.. I want to win against the cold.

I need some advice, I work out a lot every day, I do cardio and weight lifting every day, so when I go to sleep my body is usually tired and needs too much sleep.
What should I do? I read that getting a nice shower in the morning helps you. I absolute hate caffeine, because it makes me pee every single fucking hour... Still, sometimes I need to get it.
Problem is, I workout in the evening and shower after, and so should I shower again in the morning? Two times in a day? Because I change underwear every time after a shower, even if it is two times in a day.. So I guess I'll need to buy a few more underwears lol.

One really important thing I noticed is this, after a workout, I am super motivated, I could to do anything..but that's sleep time.. So maybe I should start getting up even earlier (3 AM) and work out then?

Will try to wake up at 4AM and sleep at 10PM or 10.30PM from today, I can't anymore of losing against the cold.
Still undecided of workout out in the early morning or in the evening like I always do.
How you guys do it? Especially if you hit the gym/workout, because that's a really important step.

Micky advises central heating.

No, too much money, the bill goes up to hundreds upon hundreds of €.
And even if that wasn't a problem, I can't sleep with the heat on, I love to sleep in the cold..totally covered in my bed.. it's the wake up that sucks. Strange, I know..

I just wanted to point out cold showers, trust me, after 6-7 ice cold showers you will feel refreshed, you won't be cold at all, read the article above for all the info. You need to try it :)

Have you tried wearing thermal underwear?

Yes and no way I would go to sleep with them, just too much uncomfortable for me. I like to feel free and just covered in my bed.

Learned this in lifehacker.

Jump out of bed without thinking and do 10 pushups.

Wakes you up immediately.

When you wake up and exercize immediately, it makes your brain think you're fleeing a predator animal. It's in your genes to wake up quick.

If you wake up slowly and peacefully, your genes tell you to go into bear mode and you're nearly hibernating in the cold. The body does not react to the comfort zone.

Thanks! Going to do this as soon as I wake up and then a nice shower.

Don't get out of bed and hop into a hot shower because you won't want to leave. When you do this and you get out of the shower you tend to freeze right away so all you want to do is stay in the shower. Overall it won't wake you up much either (especially if its a hot shower it will keep you drowsy).

Do a light workout instead and maybe either wait awhile before showering or wait until later that day. Don't do a heavy workout right when you wake up but do something light just to wake up. Go eat some food after and just keep moving.

It may feel like everyday is the hardest day of your life to wake up so make sure you're getting the proper amount of sleep. Don't get too much or too little or it will make everything much harder.

Cool, I'll definitely try doing that one day. At the moment, taking cold showers before sleeping has helped me wake up early in the morning without any problems.

Time your central heating to come on about an hour before you want to get up...

When I lived in Australia and it was getting cooler already but not quite winter, I would go to sleep with the AC on and set the timer to cut it off an hour before I wanted to get up... otherwise, I'd stay in my warm bed all morning rather than get up to a house freezing cold by way of the all-night AC.
