Google To Have a New Competitor?

People said the same about google. I remember I had a friend who said google's front page looked stupid because they didn't have pictures, news, and categories on the home page like Yahoo.

Yea, but Google appeared when there wasn't much else. Today, there's many more search engines and like I said before, ChaCha tried to be innovative (results hand-picked by humans) but now no one really cares about them.

that site looks good..
i expect it..and
can we make money with it? anyone has some ideas?

Back to article writing again ;-)

Article writing is one of the only methods that has really lasted the test of time.

Article marketing should always be part of your traffic plan for any site you launch and
want to monetize.

Wolfram Alpha is the true beginning of web3.0

What will follow will probably be automated digital Buttlers ;)
getting u all the info you need.
My best bet? OpenSource will will manifest this dream.

Monetization oppurtunities, of course will be there.
But, like always, business minded coders, or code minded businesses will
get most of the cake.

Well, let's wait & see :-D

I have no doubt that this can and will be monetized, but to be honest, this won't touch google. This site has basically stated that it will be a tool for a smarter audience, trust me when I say that the majority of people we are gonna want to target with our advertising dollars will still be using google.

Smarter consumers = harder sells

Also from the examples in the article, it seems that this tool will be used for more accurate research information. When it comes to those money keywords, I speculate that google will give similar or better results.

Just my two pennies, but of course I definitely don't know the future, so lets wait and see!

heh I remember using yahoo when I was a kid, and when google came out I never thought it would end up where it is now.

I still really don't know how the hell Y! lost the number one spot.

I think I'll google it... lol

At some point someone will ask this thing "which e-book to buy to make a trillion dollars a day in IM". Even intelligent people fall for stupid things in areas they really don't know ANYTHING about. I fell once so I know :P. Intelligent people will and will fall over and over again to products like IM and dieting.. these will always overrule rational thinking. If you desire something, I mean REALLY desire something, that's the moment when your brains usually stop working rationally.

The thing is to figure out how to sting your product right there in the answer.

edit: ok, ok.. I fell TWICE. Damn. Luckily it's one of the best ways to learn not to do it again. :D

Who'd have thought that a garage company like google would become this giant that beat yahoo and msn.
To a black hat it doesn't matter who the leader is, but how to exploit and make money from him/her/it

reading through all this information i think that google will be safe in the top spot on the search engines for a whiles yet

Google will fall. Just like the U.S.A.

After WW2, the United States was looked upon as we look at Google today.

Superpowers who seemed invincible. But everything falls.

with a domain name like wolframalpha.com they better come up with something a little better. Ive seen keyword searches where people cant even spell wii. Google isnt in any threat, they've branded themselves WAY too big.

I can see this dying in the ass quite quickly.
It would help if they chose a much better and easier to remember name. Yahoo and Google are great. Schoolboy error right there.

It would be great for G to have some serious competition, but this is apples and oranges.

Good to keep an eye on this one. Remember, back in 1998 when GG was being born, the founders didn't even realize that search marketing will be their bread and butter eventually. Yahoo even partnered with them back in 2000, not realizing that GG will beat them in a couple of years. Remember IBM DOS deal with MS also during MS infancy?

My point is we never know exactly what is coming, but it is good to learn lessons from history and be prepared for the future : ) sorry for lecturing here. . ..
