Averaging 5 unique visitors per day and 13 page views per day.
No earnings yet, but not expecting any at the moment.

Have started to build a few links here and there, but nothing major yet.
Few keywords starting to show up in serpbuddy, but highest primary keyword is #41 at the moment (that is pretty much purely with onpage SEO though).

2.I put that keyword into http://keywordshitter.com and wait until I have around 2000 longtail variations.

Keywordshitter uses yahoo api and you might loose few profitable ones.+use scrapebox then use some thing like maketsamuri to remove keywords with less then 50 searches/month that will be better.

I am thinking about starting one too.
I don't know which niche to go with.
Looking forward with health, beauty,lifestyle. I don't think i can beat the big ones in this area.Must be a tough call.

thanks, Ill have a look for that when I get time, although viewing results through chrome with those toolbars I mentioned previously is giving me a good idea at the moment.

After using various methods to determine keyword comp I have come to the conclusion that you often get a much better idea with a quick look at the top ten, rather than looking at just stats.

As for the site, its a month old now I did have a bit of "writers block" recently and am only up to 28 published articles a the moment.

Site is getting around 5-10 uniques per day now.

A Question- what's your methodology towards Categories and tags ? I am in the process of planning out a rather exhaustive authority site in a pretty competitive niche and can't figure out if i should go Broad categories with sub-categories in a drop down menu structure or Broad categories supported by segregation by tag (which can later easily be organized into sub-sections) ?

I read that excellent SILO article you posted earlier but can't quite fathom which approach to take. More than Google SERPs my aim is to make sure that the reader gets to the relevant info in a organized manner.

Thanks, I used this tool for the latest article. It took the Felch score (Always noted in the Yoast SEO plugin) from 53.3 to 60.3 so it definitely improved the readability if thats anything to go by.

Thats a difficult one. I have gone for the broad categories and then further classification by tag. In my niche I think it works quite well, otherwise I would have so many sub levels I think it would confuse the reader.

Been moving house over last few days so not written any new articles for the site.

Have done a few things to push the site along though:

I have directed a few expired domains to the site, including a PR3 domain that was in the same niche. This domain already had some targeted traffic as well so I have recreated some articles from that site and forwarded those pages, and the rest of the domain, accordingly.

Have ordered some SEO services on some of the other sub pages as well as started a Linklure campaign to one of the sub pages, so I will update on the effects of those in due course.

I've had the best luck with hiring a content writer to churn out quick, conversational, easy to read content roughly based on your keyword. Then I do the SEO and any cleaning up of the content I need. If you show around you can find 500 word articles for under $4 each that can easily be prepped and placed on your site. Since it's mostly about quality, original content, getting as much as you can on the site is key.

I will eventually outsource content, I have been building a list of providers that I think would produce good enough content. But at the moment I am finding th content side reasonably easy to do myself.

Just a quick update guys. I have lost track of the number of days I have been working on the site now but I think its around 2 months.

I have 56 posts published now, totaling 42,000 words (Thanks to a nice Wordpress plugin called dashboard wordcount).

I have devised a modified technique now for finding longtail keywords for each article:

1.Take the keyword from my list and run it through Google keyword planner tool selecting only to have closely related terms returned.

2.Take that list of closely related terms (normally 100 or so terms) and run then in scrapbox keyword scraper - this normally returns near to 1k results. I strip out duplicates then put that list again into Google keyword planner.

3.Filter the resulting list by search volume and then look for the longer terms with average search - personally I am going for lower search volume so they are easier to rank for at the moment.

4.Once I have a few terms I put them into Google and have a quick look at the top ten sites currently ranking for the term, if I see lots of authority sites in the niche then I forget about it and move on to the next one.

5.Once I find one with sites that I think can be outranked quite easily, I put those terms into market samurai and then I can get some more in depth factors on the top ten competition - like how many backlinks they have, whether their pages are optimized for the keyword and so on.

Hi man I am just curious about the link building strat you are going to utilize. You mentioned hq web2 and press releases. Are you using any other type of link? What kinds of services would you recommend for white hat link building and tier 2?
