I've Been a New Member for a Week But Can't Make a Post...

Hi All,

I'm a new member -- just a week old -- and have a great affiliate program I would love to introduce to the community but I'm still not allowed to post it. I keep getting a message that says I have to be a member a little longer. I can be patient, but does anyone know how long a "little longer" is?

You need 30 posts in order to post links. If it's self promotion you'll have to buy a thread in the marketplace section, which requires 100+ posts, $127 + member for 90 days.

You can't just go and recruit affiliates here, Chris, you have to pay for that privilege.

Doing otherwise could get you tossed before you even get your feet wet.

It is surprising how illiterate these great minds are, who try and drown us in their shit. Or usually, when a person doesn't know how to read the forum rules the item/service they sell tends to be of not such great quality.

The rules actually says it's fine tho.

Affiliate links are permitted only in the "Affiliate Programs" section of the forum, [..] If you wish to let people know about a new website or program, create ONE thread in the Affiliate Programs forum and provide detailed information about the program, and include two links: one affiliate link and one non-affiliate link. [..]

I'm not trying to be a dick or prove anyone wrong. But I think BHW also has a responsibility to making those kind of stuff clear.
There's a lot of suggestion posted by the members how those threads could be avoided, but only time can tell when any of it will be integrated.

You are correct and I'm pretty sure that is part of the updates we are about to see.

As to making money off of others in the forum by having them as affiliates, there is a vetting process and it does come with a fee. I know as I have gone through that but I think it is not entirely clear for all to easily understand right off.

It really is a good idea to vett them as there are some networks/offers that are not fair to their publishers and having a person very familiar with that sort of thing can save a new guy in IM, or even a season pro, money, time and headache powder.

You might be a decent bloke, but you might also be a bit of a rat,

Even if you were able to post it, anyone of any quality would view it with suspicion.

My advice would be get involved let people know who you are not by your sales pitch, but just by being you. Develop respect and your project will grow exponentially. Fire from the hip, and well you might do ok, but you might not.

I appreciate your trying to run a business and time is of the essence, it's just my tuppence worth.

P.s. I still consider myself a noob on the forum, but people have settled in and created value much quicker than me, it's just the nature of things.
