Was thinking of getting some hosting for a year sometime soon. Was going to wait for hostgators cyber monday sale where everything will most likely be 50% off. Will be using the hosting to attempt some sites that will be linked to PPD, nothing illegal or too black hat. I will also be using one site to host my indie game I have been developing for some time now. 99% uptime will be VITAL for that one site.

Is the hosting provided by some members by BHW in the services section legit, and are they good quality? Or am I better off going with host gator that I know will be a bit more secure?

There are a TON of better alternatives than hostgator.

Why don't you specify what you are looking for in a host... shared, etc?

That will help some point you in the right direction.

Go for powerup hosting, they are best according to me.

For Shared you have
StableHost x10premium veerotech tigertech .
VPS you have allot if choices depending on your budget .

I don't know how to use VPS hosting, so was thinking of just doing a shared hosting plan to start with 1-3 sites and develop more if I am successful in my ventures.

I am using hostwinds and i am satisfied 24/7 support, fast and reliable
There is a coupon for 0.01 Hosting for the first month - 1centhost, idk if it still works I used it 2 or 3 weeks ago

I have a $50 off coupon for dreamhost, which is who I use. I dropped hostgator because I wanted to find a good host that was not part of Endurance International Group. Just so you know, it is my affiliate coupon. PM me if you'd like it. I hope this isn't against any rules. If so, please remove this post.

Services on this forum are better and more reliable, knowing that they take SEO requirements to account.

Go with what Dorothy is offering then, Tosty. That will get you in the ball game and when your sites start kicking butt and taking names in terms of lots of traffic and bandwidth, then you upgrade, but until then this is a very solid option for you.
