Hey All !!

I was hoping to give something back to this awesome community, so I decided to make a thread and answer and help almost all questions and members who need help with Facebook ads. Oh I know how frustrating their ads can be, so I know how you feel.

A little bit about me: I started doing IM about 2 years ago, I started with SEO (yuck!) oh man how I hate SEO now. Even though I managed to rank a couple of sites but none of them actually lasted with those damn penguin panda updates. So about 1 year ago I started learning about adwords (which was super hard to get low CPC) and Facebook ads. After about 7 months of struggle with Facebook, I finally found my stride and landed a couple of local small business.

I just want to mention that I do not do any cloaking, redirecting or any of that. I work mainly with white and grey hat niches.

Hey Jeff, it is my pleasure.

The basic principle of getting low CPC is two things:
1) High CTR
2) Low CPM

now let me explain those in detail so you know how to structure your campaigns:
1) High CTR

To get a high CTR you need to target an audience that you know exactly will love your ad and will interact with it in some way. This can be done in a couple of ways:

1) making a smaller extremely targeted audience that you know will interact with it when they see it
Example: targeting 13-18 year old single males in a fairly large city with specific interests and using iphone's.
In this way your audience is laser targeted so you get a high ctr which means low CPC and higher ROI.

2) ALOT of ad variations, meaning having at least 6-10 images, 2-3 headlines and 2 body texts. The most performing ad will give you the highest CTR which will give you a low CPC.

2) Low CPM
This can be done by two things, the first one is a hit and miss:
1) Targeting a super small audience that you dont have to compete for a high CPM bid (meaning you will have a low CPM bid) which will bring you a low CPC.
2) Targeting Low CPM countries, also known as junk countries. These countries are cheap to target but the return from them is also usually low. (hint: google low cpm countries facebook) for the list.


FINALLY, combining these two things will give unbelievable results, be creative and look for untapped niches.

Also I cannot really tell you if its worth investing or not until you actually test it out yourself. So my suggestion is if you see it successful in SEO or other PPC campaigns (meaning other people have done it and are still doing it) then it means it can definitely be successful on fb ads.

Test it out yourself and split test and split test and optimize the heck out of it.

I have only had a warning on my account for doing something utterly stupid.

I wanna ask you a few questions which could give me a better idea why you keep getting banned:
1) are you buying low quality fb accounts ?
2) are you using brand new accounts with no friends and no activity and then making ads on them ?
3) are you constantly getting your ads disapproved ?
4) are you doing black hat ads? like redirects, cloaking ..

I suggest for a higher life expectancy of an account is make it legit, have friends,aged,activity.

HUGE DISCLAIMER HERE : I DO NOT CONDONE USING FACEBOOK ADVERTISEMENT FOR BLACK HAT USE, THE FOLLOWING IS JUST AN OPINION.

this might help your issue:
you need to be very careful in your accounts integrity.

1) use aged accounts that are created in the same country as where you are operating your accounts
for example don't use accounts that were made in India and then suddenly be used in USA.

2) have some activity in the account, such as have friends, install apps, play games, post some stuff, like pages, PVA.....and other things.

3) the first couple of ads in the account need to be 100% approved, no disapproved content, images and language.

once you feel the account is nice and healthy, then do whatever you want.

PS. the main reason your old accounts were doing well is because they were aged and active and looks good in fb's eyes.

I offer them a facebook ad managment campaign, which means I only work on their facebook ads. But I do offer them advice on their facebook page and posting habits, and since I have experience with SEO and reputation managment I can refer them to different services.

as for pricing I have already mentioned it above:
I charge a monthly fee that ranges from $xxx per month to $x,xxx per month depending on their Facebook spending.

Hi Eltanke,

Unfortunately once your account is banned there is no way back, but you can still make another account and do it over again. Just make sure you understand why your account was initially banned so you can avoid doing the same mistake again.

if you are blocked for unusual activity then that issue pertains to your facebook account activity not the facebook AD account activity, which I think it can be reactivated by sending a photo id of yourself as proof which could take time because it is manual review.

If you buy Facebook accounts I suggest using a real CC not VCC, as 99% of VCC are not acceptable by facebook.

no need to mess with proxies, just make sure you are in the same country or city where the original fb account was created .

Every business is different and have different goals, so you need to talk with them personally and discuss their goals. The pricing could vary greatly and is determined by your professionalism and how big a name you are.

generally with big name companies that can afford it, I charge $x,xxx where smaller business are $xxx.

Well there is a difference between Ads are not running or its not approved, which one is it ?

if its not approved then, it usually shows why its not approved ( example: alot of text in the ad image )

or

if its not running then it means 2 things :
1) your ad bid for CPC or CPM is too low, so fb does not run it at all
2) it is inactive by you

I always use oCPM, I get the best results from it.
The best CTR to have is 100% ! lol but the average for newsfeed ads is around 5%-15%

well since you are new I suggest creating multiple campaigns and trying out diffrent ideas with different countries, and one of them will work out for you !

Thats tricky, I suggest making an account with a US VPN IP and getting a CC with the billing address the same as the location of VPN IP. Make your account legitimate and have activity on it.

Any niche is allowed within facebooks advertising guidlines does not need a cloaker.
Facebook does not allow direct linking.

Facebook does not allow direct linking.
NewsFeeds are waaaaaaaaay better . RHS is usually used for branding not for actions.

I only use one account.
Fb is targetting people who have shown interest while other PPC platform like adwords are targeting users who are actively searching for something.

For example if you have a product that noone is searching for then facebook is perfect for you, because they may shown interest to something similar.
I target via demographics and interests.

For newbies, I highly suggest going with promoted posts because its a few simple targeting options then when they feel comfortable going to ad creation by clicking the ad create button where most people create their ads then finally using power editor to get the most flexibility.

When promoting you niche, you need to:
1) create a facebook page
2) research your niche to see who your audience may be
3) research similar niches to see what they have done before
4) what makes you better than the rest ? focus on what makes you better and why they should use you.

Any niche on FB is successful as long as you put the work in. They ALL work - You just need the proper optimization done in order to be profitable and scale from there.

after 3 days I talked to another guy, he said they work worldwide.
I do not really need hosting, the only reason to buy is this coupon, so it has to be sure that I can use it in Europe

I see fb ads manager recently updated again, the following are the biding options :
1. Optimize for website clicks.
2. Optimize for clicks.
3. Optimize for impressions.
So which option do you use for bidding now?

I was thinking of creating a new account with ads enabled using vcc, creating a new page, adding a coupon, using all funds, then making my main account admin of that page.

Is this more effort than its worth? It seems ad coupons are pretty tough to come by recently. Can't seem to find a seller that has them in stock.

I'm just trying out FB ads, on a micro-budget for gf's artwork store (trying to catch some xmas gift market).

FB suggests that to drive website clicks CPM is the preferred model, but I thought CPC would give better control of my budget for a new campaign with no idea of CTR yet. But I read that by allowing FB to optimise for website clicks, CPM will give me higher CTR thus improve my quality rating and hence reduce CPC. In your experience is this correct?

Also what sort of CTR should I expect when compared to adwords (which I have a small amount of experience with). ANy other tips would be greatly appereciated as I am just getting started with FB ads and find it a little harder to get my head around than adwords.
