[BRAG THREAD] Internet Speed

Ping: 24ms
Download Speed: 14.56 Mbps
Upload Speed: 1.91 Mpbs
OP, yours is insanely fast

It's 15Mb/s upload and download for 200$/year here. On the positive side, uptime is great.

What this thread has proven beyond doubt is that UK providers rip us off.

Lol, at all of the people posting their server speeds acting like they're home rates. The difference in those speeds is somewhat useless to even bring up, because as was stated above, it's how they're all reported. Yes, technically you won't get that number you see, but neither will anyone else, so who cares. The easiest way to understand it I think, is to think about it like this, the ISP is going to advertise in Mb/s, whereas when you're actually downloading you'll get about 1/8th of that speed, give or take a little. For example, if I run a speed test on one of those sites, it will show that I get about around 60-65 Mbps, however when I go to download something in let's say utorrent, it will usually max me at just over 7 MBps. The difference is MegaBYTES vs MegaBITS. Since everyone is using the same test though, I don't know what the point was in bringing it up.

Are you based somewhere in Himachal or Punjab?
First time in my life my ips made me happy. usually i get low .But, this time just to beat you they gave me 10% more.

All I know is that since I went up a tier with Comcast for internet speed it has been lightening fast (compared to what it was). That was my only point I guess in posting the thread. That, and I was kind of curious what others had. Oh, and I was excited. haha....

I did not really know the difference between MegaBYTES, MegaBITS & MegaBUTTS. I just saw that my speed doubled/tripled on that particular speed test after the tier boost.

It is crazy to see the vast differences in speed from person to person!

Hey my bad, I didn't mean this thread was pointless, lol. I was talking about the difference in Mbps and MBps being pointless to bring up here. I actually have the same plan as you do with Comcast, and judging by the server you used for the test, we probably live fairly close. That Miami one is the one that I used to ping off of as well, although out of nowhere today my IP changed, and now it says I live around 500 miles away from my actual location, so this should be interesting, lol. Sorry again about that if you thought I was being a dick or anything, def wasn't my intention :)

No worries man. I just misunderstood you. It happens! And yeah, loving this weather lately down here in South Florida! It has actually been cool out!
