Paying bills is great, means you can afford stuff ;)

Unfortunately, the paying bills part still goes on after you are dead.
Make a Will and start planning how you want your estate distributed now.

That's why i'm in IM, to pay the bills and enjoy the greater things in life while being able to support myself and my future family.

Good quote, it's kind of true too when thinking about it.

I get a good feeling when all the bills are paid up for the month.

You can't do one without the other.

On the other hand I really do enjoy what I do and there is not one day that I am not looking forward to doing digital marketing, I don't get bored.

Paying bills will always be there, but living life is up to you. Having good friends,
raising a family, having interesting things to do and just enjoying life in general
does not take a lot of money. I know multimillionaires who are very depressed
people and I know some people who have very little, yet they are as happy
as can be. It is all in the mindset and attitude. :)

it sounds like they are just going thru the motions, but not living their lives. the funny thing is that having lotsa cashola won't automatically make one happy. even tho many people believe that it will. ever notice the chronic drug abuse in wealthy circles?

2. "When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life.
When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.

I wrote down 'happy'.

They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life."

I wish I knew what "living life" was. If I knew what I truly wanted to do, I'd go after it. In the meantime I'm just paying bills and saving money.

Save money, get passive income and live on a beach somewhere with the ones you love... that's the meaning of life!!

I am really living my life and hope that I will keep living it until I die :), and of course it means I am also paying my bills until I die, because some people will not let me live my life as I want to live it till I die :)... and after I die, I won't be concerned with my (this) life or paying the bills, or with those people who want me to pay the bills until I die. I know that they will get the due payments on time even after I die. :D I am really happy with my day-to-day life and I guess those people too are happy the way I am living it (because they aren't complaining).

It made me think how worthless these motivational sayings are. I'm seriously starting to believe that 90% of people who post these things are broke as fuck.

Contrary to some of the guys who have already posted, this quote does have quite a bit of meaning to me.

Backstory time: A few years ago, I had just dropped out of my final year of school to pursue a job. I wanted money. Screw that "education" nonsense.

I worked hard, and I was good at my job, but I realised eventually that I hated it. I wasn't getting paid amazingly, and I was literally living just to pay bills. I had no money left over at the end of the month, and I couldn't even enjoy the stuff I had, because I worked from 7 - 5+ every day, and most weekends and public holidays.

Paying bills is fine, and I have no problem with that. I think the problems arise when that's all you're doing with your life. Working to pay bills, eat, sleep and die. That sucks ass.

Hey,

It's quite normal that people think that their liquidity is directly correlated to their happiness. While on the one side, not enough money can result in a constant form of stress and be very harmful to ones health (statistically proven), having a large amount of wealth will not automatically make you happy either. The delusion that acquiring more and more possessions will bring the desired happiness actually came from the perpetuation of advertisements which subconsciously connect basic human needs with their products. Get in touch with enough of them over the years and it will be in your brain like a virus, making you subconsciously believe that buying some crap will actually relieve the basic human need. Of course, the great thing is that it actually doesn't work... which is why the guy buying the crap will buy more crap once the "relieve" is over.

Chaching. The "consumer" society is born, just as planned.

To be honest, I think for a happy live it's important to understand that nobody has a purpose... we have to create our own. We have to find what we enjoy and try to get better at it, as long as we enjoy it. Refine skills, break delusions, acquire knowledge and experiences... and don't let your fear dictate.

warm regards,

When i saw what you wrote I thought you read a book or something, when I saw the huge motivational image....i started laughing :) well i guess it has a point, however i don't really see how 2 short sentences can make you think about it, there isn't enough time to get in the mood :) try reading a motivational book, now there's something that will really make you think..

I think the 'happiness' issue is very simple.

Money can bring happiness, of course it can, but it's not the money itself - it's what someone uses the money for.

It could be to be financially independent
It could be to spend your life travelling
It could be to focus all your time on a hobby.
It could be innumerable things

The problem is that too many people only have 'money' as the goal. They haven't actually figured out beyond that what will bring them happiness. And because they have no idea what they will do with the money (to bring them happiness), once they acquire it they are just as unhappy as they were before they had it.

The trick is to figure out what will truly make you happy first - and then work to achieve that.

sorry i don't understand the picture, what is "life" ?
