I'm wondering what other people's experience is with Google Webmaster Tools accurately displaying impressions.

My site was created 4 months ago and the impressions have been steadily going up while the clicks stay the same. They just shot up 2 days ago to 351 impressions with just 1 click. Is this just a worthless stat or are the clicks close behind?

In four months I'm at a 16DA 28PA, starting to see the light I hope. ~10-15 visits/day sending 4 to amazon. Of course sales aren't there quite yet. Sorry for droning on just trying to show a big picture.

This has happened to me before.

I don't have a proven/tested answer -- but my thought was that's your site appearing for new search queries.

Like if you started ranking for a new keyword, but in a low position, so you get impressions but no click throughs.

Is there an issue with your meta title/description, that has an impact on CTR (think of it like an advertisement, the more compelling it is, the higher your CTR). That's also another way you can generate a few more % points of traffic.

I'd like to think the meta title/description are pretty optimized. I wonder if those are just bots or something because that's too big of a disparity between over a thousand impressions but less than 5 clicks.

Split test the visuals on the lander, you might have something that people don't like there that never occurred to you.

An impression is a presentation of your site in their index for the stated keyword. Whether that keyword has high traffic value or low traffic value, if your site is not presented on page 1 but on page 50, you won't get any clicks. If you do it is by sheer luck. You have to make your site climb in the rankings. There's lots of info here on how to do that but it can be hard work

I'm pretty sure this is pre-click. So this is him showing up in the SERP's but not getting any clicks onto his site.
