i'd like to buy this plugin but few questions i have are

1) can you put in feature like not to like jack a "user" such as admin / contributor?
2) whats if i dont set a default url? and i want it by default like the page the user is on?
3) hide it from anyone other than admin in the post area? i have many contributors on my site. and i don't want them to see that such a plugin exists.

please could you contact me on skype?
i may a few follow up questions.

Hi, I'll answer these questions so that others can benefit from knowing the answers. And anything that isn't private about the plugin can be discussed here on the thread, again, so other members can read the answers.

1) It won't jack anyone if they're not logged in to FB.
2) This feature has been requested by others and is to be included in a future update of the plugin. You can have it like jack the user for the page their viewing by putting the URL of that page in to the Like Jacker URL box that appears under the text editor box of every post you create and every post that you've already created on your blog
3) We're unable to to hide the plugin from different users - those other than Admin. I'll check with the coding team to see if it can be done though.

Thanks,

Shez

We've tested it on a multitude of sites with different themes and plugins without issues so far but obviously we couldn't cover every type of set up.

Are you running the latest version of WP ? We'll try that first.

Yes, tried all the usual.

Updated to WP 4, tried disabling all other plugins, changed theme, etc.

Still just a blank page when trying to go to settings.

We had another person with this issue and it was caused by an old version of PHP running on their web host. When everything else has been taken out of the equation the only thing left is a PHP issue on the server.

You can ask your hosting comp to update PHP to the latest version and increase php.ini

This fixes the issue. What web host are you using?

Thanks,

Shez

That did it, just updated from 5.2 to 5.4 and it fixed it.

Thanks

Shez, i am not talking about fb user logged or not.
I have more than 20 contributors / editor / admin rolls on my site.
i dont want my own editors and article writers to be click jacked :P

facebook changed algo? facebook link likes not showing up in news feeds unless it has comment? Anyone else notices this update?

For now, as the plugin doesn't have that feature, you can put their IP in the "blocked IP" settings.

That is the only work around for it at the moment until the feature is added to the plugin.

Thanks,

Shez

so the admin isnt even going to respond? I have question about link likes. I think facebook change the algo, unless a comment is accompanied by the link it doesnt send the link to news feed.. can anyone else verify if its working for them.. link likes that is

Will this ever be implemented or is it simply impossible?

I reply to all questions post on the thread. The other member answered the question before I did.

I don't think your assumption about the FB algo is accurate though as clicking a FB like button on a site will cause that to be posted on to a users wall - hence the reason for liking something on FB, your friends will see it and it allows for friends to share with each other the things they 'like' on the internet.

As we don't know the actual workings of the FB algo we can sometimes only make assumptions though and try to second guess the reasons that FB may have, in some circumstances, not to show a like on a users wall.

Thanks,

Shez

listen im not a newbie at this lol.. Im asking because I dont see this topic being brought up. So can you go and try to like a site and see if it goes on the newsfeed? no one cares about the activity log.. it has to show in the news feed for it to matter. I tried reputable sites as well such as NFL CNN.. so im not understanding, those sites are good sites..no im not trying to like those domains from any of my sites. I did it via the plugin in an external browser.. as well as going to their sites.. checked on numerous profiles etc.. so before i buy i need to figure out whats going on

I never said you were a newbie at anything.

The topic has been brought up here when you mentioned it and I answered it to the best of my knowledge. No one but FB can control where likes show up. The jacker generates a Like to be given to the URL that you have told the Jacker to get the like for. That is what we programmed the plugin to do.

It is entirely within the control of FB as to whether that like appears on a users wall or their activity log. As it is for any like that a URL is given.

Thanks,

Shez

adding IP wont work since most have dynamic IP including myself.
would love to buy it when you add these features.
