I got offered a job selling things on eBay with a salary plus commission. I sold some expensive items but they were sold for much cheaper than normal. Now the guy wants me to send me him cash via courier so he can then send the goods to the buyer.
Its a similar setup to dropshipping.
I think I should just refund the buyer because I think its weird he wants me to send him cash via courier.

Yeah dude, idk. I have a big ebay account as well, and have been on the look out for drop shippers myself, but if it seems too good to be true, it usually is. It is kinda weird he wants the money.. dropshipping business takes a lot of trust on both parties. You might be better off just refunding, cutting your loses now (if you any), and getting out of this now. What if this guy takes your money and never ships? Now you are out of money, and you have a pissed off customer, who will also demand their money back, and ruin your ebay cred. This is why I don't like dropshipping. I think if anything I would buy on wholesale, it's risky.. but at least you are in complete control.

The fact he wants me to send him cash is the weirdest thing IMO.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Dont think twice, refund any buyers and cut off any contact with the guy.

Well duh, if you send him cash, you can't reverse payment on it. Also, why does he need to PAY YOU if he's legit selling high end goods for far less than what it usually goes for? Just refund, apologize to customers, and hope that this doesn't kill your eBay acct.

If the items were shipped and the clients received the items already then you can send him whatever he wants including cash. I love cash because I don't want anything to do with banks if I can. I pay enough fees in this world to pay more fees, but if your sending him money before the items even reach then no good.

Definitely sounds shady. Just go with your gut instinct.

If it is "salary plus commission" he should just dock from what you are to get.

Seems kind of suspect. Try it out. Seems like a low cost loss if anything

Huh? You realize that if the "partner" doesn't ship, you're responsible for refunding the customer, since you sold stuff on your ebay/paypal, right?

Had this happen to my brother around 6 months ago, it is 100% a scam. As soon as you send him the money your screwed as he just won't send any of the products, then paypal will take the money off you.

I'm betting the items were pretty high end products like new iphones, he sold them really cheap to get quick sales, so cheap he could never make any profit legitimately selling them. He keeps the cash and you end up seriously out of pocket.

It's a real lowlife scam and just shows the levels people will stoop too in order to make some quick cash, no regard for others. If he wants you to send the cash via courier he needs to give you an address, report him to the police and give them the address.

Sounds like a big scam, you are a senior member you should know better.
