We need a rule for new users to start a thread. A minimum post count.
Nowadays every day a lot spam/crap thread is popping up by 1-5 post users.
This place is becoming like a shitty board for spammers.

Please do something about it.

I absolutely agree with this.

Too many new guys asking too many basic questions that have been asked 1000 times before. Recently it seems that you have to trudge through the useless spam to get to the good stuff.

I'd personally like to see a customer service kind of thread posting process for those with <10/<50/<100 posts. Search your question first and then if you don't get an answer, you can post. Obviously it'd have to be more in-depth than that.

So to reduce thread spam you propose we take an action that will increase it by a big multiple by having to kill spam posts? :)

i dont agree with that , if someone with less post count had something great to share ? i hope no one here knows every thing

then there will be lot of posts like this

great post thank you

can i have a review copy ? etc etc

with a forum this size its impossible to cut out all the stupid threads
we just have to live with it, and stop posting threads complaining about it

totally agree with ya :D stop whinging

Just report the posts and we'll deal with them. Reporting spam and assisting those who ask questions that have been answered is much better than cutting them off fully in my opinion. Even if you just reply with a link to the search function.
In the meantime, we could look at getting some more stickies or making it clearer to people that some things have been answered and/or are not acceptable. This is a forum though and there will always be brilliant posts and really poor posts.

It's not always what's posted, but how us, the community deal with them when they arise.

I agree it's a problem but I think the spamming of posts is a bigger issue.

I've noticed that most newbie spammers are asking for PMs, so a better solution would be to not give the PM facility to newbies until they have fulfilled certain criteria.

Minimum criteria of 30 posts and 15 days would be better. Most of the spammers never wait 15 days to post spam

It's like a vicious circle, if you need 15 or more post, new members will spam treads with shitty comments and then create shitty treats, it is only a matter of time, to do it for them.

It might work, but then they would just spam worthless post to increase the post count.

Quiet day? . . . There are no "quiet days" when you are a
mod on a forum consisting of over 600,000 members! LOL :)

i was being sarcastic wiz - you no a normal day for me lolz

I always hit that big sexy report button an the post is usually gone within minutes. Its a problem that the whole internet faces and us black hatters are the primary culprits, so hit the report spam button and deal with it.

Increase post counts to 50 for PM and Posting threads

This has already been discussed several times, so mods/admins are aware of it and I'm sure they will implement the right solution at the right time if needed.

Maybe making a sticky with a thread containing all the useful information, and then update it whenever a good thread is posted.

Just an opinion.

heres a thought, go with me on this, hit the bloody report button
gives the mods something to do on a quiet day

That never worked for nooby threads (until mods will delete a thread it will have already wasted time of 100+ users) + a minimum post count + 1 month waiting time will do wonders.
