Brand Domain vs Keyword Domain

We know that having an EMD does not work as well as it used to in 2014, and chances are it doesn't work at all.

I have 2 options:
Registering a .net with 2 words describing my website.

Or

Registering a .com short fancy brand name.

Which one would you choose?
I will be ranking the inner pages and not the homepage, so I will have keywords in my URL no matter what. I think about going with the brand word because it will be simpler to rank the homepage for the brand name.

I prefer domain with brand name.
You can change your business type later and continue using trusted domain name.

I prefer partly matches with 1 keyword or some related word and the domain to actually have some meaning. But not the 5-6 word branded domains which don't mean anything.

Depending on your keywords you could ideally get the best of both the worlds by going for a brand-able partial match domain. Keywords in the domain name, do still have a lot of ranking power.

Also, the EMD algorithm that was introduced about two years back only hit the EMD sites with low authority. EMD sites with high authority were and are still ranking at the top.

Note that we can only give you generic advice since we have no data from you. Before you decide, you should spend some time looking at the top 10 sites that rank for the keyword you are targeting. Check how many have the keyword in the domain name, url, title tag etc

Yeah of course.. Go for brand domain, you can rank it easily with the brand name.. It's the best option here..

So for example.

I can register a domain like drivingtheorytests.net and have urls like drivingtheorytests.net/drivinglicencetheorytest/1 and so on.

Or

wowdrive.com/driving-theoty-test/1 etc.

So wowdrive is my brand and drivingtheorytests.net being the EMD.

Your brand name "wowdrive" is good one.. Do concentrate in the KW opti and good SEO for your keywords.. Promote your brand in all possible ways and engage in all social medias.. It will go good..

how about registering both?

Use a 0.99 coupon for a .com and then register the .net on namecheap..

Choose a main and redirect the other domain to your main or build both website.. Secure 2 spots on serp.

Personal sugession is to go with brand domain name
