How to recover site.

Hello, i have one question which is unclear to me...

I have one site spammed with GSA SER links directly to the money site.

Actually the site ranked and stayed for some time now it has dropped the rankings and show some serps at 50-60 positions. I think it is penalized... The traffic dropped instantly.

Will i be able to recover the site just by removing the links from GSA SER ????

And if not. What else should i do?

I would deindex the site, grab the content, buy a new domain and repurpose it there.

In my opinion much easier to do that than "fix" the one that is bruised from massive spam links.

No... There are no massive spam links.. There are like 5,000 links only.

Well GSA SER has an option to remove links. I think that it will remove the links for about a day. Should i go for that option ?

Yes why not? If you can remove the links within a day you can apply Google for reconsideration after making some links "disavlow"
By using Google disavlow tool you can make them think that these links were made by your competitor to get your site in Penalty and you tried your best to remove all bad links. I have done the same and my website was out of penalty within 20 days.

Disavow and reconsideration request are a waste of time in most cases. You better do what BTB said above, however I'm not sure about reusing the content from a penalized/removed from index website.

Try it. Just change the content better always use fresh one.
I am sure this will help because i also had the same problem and fixed like that only.

No... There are no massive spam links.. There are like 5,000 links only.

You don't need to get the site out because your attempt will probably end up being futile. Start over just as BassTrackerBoats suggested.

I don't know but it could be that you may have lost some important links. Are those 5000 indexed?
