Have you ranked a *NEW* site since May 2014?

Low search volume keywords can be ranked top 10 pretty easily. Also, the site was registered in June, did it only recently start ranking top 10?

Search Volume = nil?

Registered this one in June. Its not that hard lads...and stuff that worked before still works now.

I created one affiliate website on 28th April 2014, unique articles implemented in perfect SILO structure and finished website on 9th May. On 11th May I started with heavy link building. Few days ago, it was exactly 4 months since I registered BRAND NEW domain, and I managed to rank keyword with 49,500 Monthly Searches in HEAVY NICHE to position #6 and still growing. Take a look at the picture below:

Many people here will disagree with me and following sentence, but there is obviously and without any doubt "waiting period" and "time lag" that increases the time to rank website on Page 1 for any keyword that has more than 3000 monthly searches.

This is the path how my website went through this "waiting period":

1st month: I pushed it with heavy High PR links - nothing happened. I reached Page 2,3,4 or 5 for main keywords in tough niche, but none of the keywords reached Page 1.
2nd month: similar situation, nothing happened with rankings, except keyword from my website's URL (brand) reached position 1. Some long tail keywords started popping up on page 1 or 2.
3rd month: Month started with big SERP jumps for long tail keywords with less than 500 monthly searches. By the time passing, more and more keywords were jumping to page 1 and fluctuating between position 1 and 8. 3rd WEEK in 3rd month was a week with massive jumps for all keywords, mostly main keywords with high search volume. After few days of fluctuations, all main keywords are stabilized on page 1 and 2. Long tail keywords are still coming to page 1, and also more and more keywords stands without problem #1 without any movement.

4th month: The 4th month just started 2-3 days ago. Still not enough data to make some conclusions. But, data on Google Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics are very promising. GWT shows an increase of Search Queries around +100 every day, clicks are increasing and Google Analytics shows steady increase of visitors from Google that are generating me more and more money every day. Take a look at the picture below:

My point is that there is impossible anymore to rank website for keywords with High CPC and high search volume within 2 months like few months back. There is no way to get traffic increase of 1000% in one day like it was possible before May update. Now this shit takes much more time to rank, even with using SAPE or any other black hat methods that usually worked like a charm.

Final thoughts and expectations

Due to the "waiting period", I expect all my keywords to break page 1 and reach top 3 positions within 1-2 months. Whatever anyone says, Google obviously takes much more time now to give trust to any website that is trying to rank in medium of high competitive niche.

All the best to all of you guys, hope this post will help someone. There is a lot of hype about G lately, a lot of people just talking sh*t about waiting period and giving some advices, without even trying anything, but the truth is that they never managed to rank any website.

Regards

Yes it has become a little harder, I have a lot of friends who are having trouble ranking websites, maybe because of new Google update or something.

yep works fine for me, high pr links and social signals work great. Also helps for a keyword in the domain.

Yes of course there are many people who will disagree, as there are many people who have ranked websites within a few week.

Where exactly do you get your info on keywords above 3000 search terms? Ah that is it, just a random number thrown in, just like "30 days"

Why do people keep throwing this complete and utter bullshit all round forums, just admit, you are not that good at ranking sites, instead of making false information up.

Exactly. None of these falsified facts are proven at all. I've churned'n burned 5+ brand new sites (reaching top 3 rankings) during the last month.

Ofcourse 3000 is random number, there is no exact rule for that. It could be 2753 or 3835, it doesn'matter. The point is that is impossible to rank that fast anymore for keywords that worth something and that can make a lot of money.

Now honestly, how much people ranked website after May update for any medium or high competitive keyword to top 3? Really a few. I am not talking about yours hardcore churn and burn techniques that really works, but for long tails with low search volume. I ranked competitive keyword with just 2 words with 49,500 searches, that means nothing?

Yep, looking at analytics right now.

The key at the moment is taking it easy with the links and doing a little bit more social stuff than before.

This whole "content marketing" thing works wonders too and Google appears to show lots of love for sites that partake in it.

So ye, everything is awesome.....

I am working on a mega authority site at the moment so i will report back later on to see how i go.

If people can rank websites within weeks or days then this proves that there is no 30 day hold, what it proves is that your technique of ranking websites no longer works as well any more. This is like saying when there was an EMD update, that it was a 30 day hold. No what happened is that EMDs were no longer an advantage like they used to be. Of course when we had the EMD update, we had the clueless preaching that EMDs are bad, when the truth was that they simply had no advantage any more.

Can't you read, stuff that works before still works now. You are simply another (no offence) clueless person who has been caught up too much in the 30 day hold hyped up bullshit.

I don't believe the '30 day hold' is a hype. It's fact.... I don't necessary believe in 30 days being the magic number but there is definitely a google triage effect happening.

Based on what i am seeing in my new projects I believe there is a correlation between monthly searches and competition to the "30 day hold period".

It's not awesome if your site is in a niche that nobody would really share... I think Google dislikes social lockers, so I've heard. Otherwise I'd offer an e-book for sharing.

It is not fact in the slightest, because there are people still ranking websites just the way they always have done. This means that it is not fact. What it is, is people trying to justify their inability to rank a website, with bullshit that suits them.

I rank one Adsense website every week. So, no problem

So what you are saying is i am justifying my inability to rank a website?

I'm only sharing my experiences with my CURRENT projects...

The hold period is not a figment of my imagination. It is happening on some of my projects and not others.... why is that so difficult to understand or comprehend?

Well, Google is still a computer, smart though it may be, and it can be beaten in specific ways. So instead of a vague concept like "content marketing", I think we can define it along the lines of "natural site structure, regularly updated content and slow inflow of links from relevant sources". That would be something a computer would understand, which is what we are aiming for, right? "Google", the computer, should rank our sites.

Since when did a website not ranking become the "mystical hold"? That is it, since the clueless started throwing the theory around forums.

Over years I have had many websites, some would rank easy, some would not. This is not new, this is just the basics of ranking a website.

It's funny you mention that.

I was doing a 30 day case study, couldn't prove a damn thing and not sure if it actually exists or not.

Ended up deleting it.....
