1. Read....take notes.....read
2. Pick a niche you have some interest in.
3. Buy a domain and some cheap hosting.

Practice....fail....learn from your mistakes.

If you are new to SEO you can go with book,online tutoriol and some other video tutorial to know and to how to do SEO.....But the real thing that makes you perfect SEO needs practical. You can know the what to do in SEO from books but you cant find the right way how to do it. So I think you should join any SEO company and you can learn more from there because you can get practical knowledge form that concern or else you can do it by yourself if you have resource .
