Wow. Been ignoring this thread for a while now. Just clicked in and I'm very surprised to see you are in a very similar industry as me (remediation of biohazardous substances like stachybotrys mold, aspergillus, pencillium, asbestos, lead, etc). I own the business with my brother and it's an awesome industry to be in. Very profitable. I also have a good friend in crime scene cleanup who makes a killing (no pun intended).
However, I simply can not vote for your business. And I'm doing this to teach you a lesson.
I really hate to voice my opinion like this .... but I do not see you winning this competition. Not even close. For various reasons.
1) Your USP is not a real "USP" and it's not unique at all. The whole "green, enviro friendly" pitch has been beaten to death by every fly-by-night cleaning company you can imagine. Unless you have some proprietary, patented chemical that has been tested and proven in the laboratory, it all reads like fluff to me. Same with "comforting" the families, again, this is not unique. It's basic customer service. I know how this industry works in the states and unless you are offering free counseling to the families you're not doing anything unique.
2) Your site, again, I hate to sound so rude..... it's bloody awful mate. You have 0 social proof, the copy is terrible, it's bland, the design is as generic as they get, the content is weak.... FFS you don't even have a logo!!!!!!! WHERE is your logo bro? Have you even looked at your competition? Have you looked at REAL crime scene clean up sites? Like the ones who work for tv? Cause they are light years ahead of you.
3) I realize you are emotionally invested in this competition along with your business. I realize a lot of people are gonna think I'm an asshole for saying this. But I feel like I'd be doing you a major DISSERVICE by voting for you. Because I don't even think you should be in any competitions. I think you need to redo your entire brand from soup to nuts ... and most likely your marketing as well. If that's what your site looks like, I can't imagine what your marketing looks like.
Let me be clear. I think it's cool for the admin to approve this and for people to help each other out. I really do. But when I look at your site I see a person who doesn't take their business very seriously.
I had to ask myself one simple question: "would it be more helpful to just vote, and ignore the fact that you're neglecting the most fundamental aspects of marketing..... OR, would it be smarter for me NOT to vote, and voice my REAL criticism in the hopes that you may actually learn something?"
For me, the latter is the obvious answer.
I really wish you the best man, but I just feel like my vote is gonna do more harm in the long run than good. And I don't say this to brag, but this advice is coming from someone who's business was broadcast on national tv (CBS's "The Doctors") and received a lot of press. Press I NEVER asked for. I just got it because I take my business seriously and when you do that (the right way), other's will take your business seriously as well.
Good luck.
