* ADMIN APPROVED * My Business Needs Your Votes

Wow. Been ignoring this thread for a while now. Just clicked in and I'm very surprised to see you are in a very similar industry as me (remediation of biohazardous substances like stachybotrys mold, aspergillus, pencillium, asbestos, lead, etc). I own the business with my brother and it's an awesome industry to be in. Very profitable. I also have a good friend in crime scene cleanup who makes a killing (no pun intended).

However, I simply can not vote for your business. And I'm doing this to teach you a lesson.

I really hate to voice my opinion like this .... but I do not see you winning this competition. Not even close. For various reasons.

1) Your USP is not a real "USP" and it's not unique at all. The whole "green, enviro friendly" pitch has been beaten to death by every fly-by-night cleaning company you can imagine. Unless you have some proprietary, patented chemical that has been tested and proven in the laboratory, it all reads like fluff to me. Same with "comforting" the families, again, this is not unique. It's basic customer service. I know how this industry works in the states and unless you are offering free counseling to the families you're not doing anything unique.

2) Your site, again, I hate to sound so rude..... it's bloody awful mate. You have 0 social proof, the copy is terrible, it's bland, the design is as generic as they get, the content is weak.... FFS you don't even have a logo!!!!!!! WHERE is your logo bro? Have you even looked at your competition? Have you looked at REAL crime scene clean up sites? Like the ones who work for tv? Cause they are light years ahead of you.

3) I realize you are emotionally invested in this competition along with your business. I realize a lot of people are gonna think I'm an asshole for saying this. But I feel like I'd be doing you a major DISSERVICE by voting for you. Because I don't even think you should be in any competitions. I think you need to redo your entire brand from soup to nuts ... and most likely your marketing as well. If that's what your site looks like, I can't imagine what your marketing looks like.

Let me be clear. I think it's cool for the admin to approve this and for people to help each other out. I really do. But when I look at your site I see a person who doesn't take their business very seriously.

I had to ask myself one simple question: "would it be more helpful to just vote, and ignore the fact that you're neglecting the most fundamental aspects of marketing..... OR, would it be smarter for me NOT to vote, and voice my REAL criticism in the hopes that you may actually learn something?"

For me, the latter is the obvious answer.

I really wish you the best man, but I just feel like my vote is gonna do more harm in the long run than good. And I don't say this to brag, but this advice is coming from someone who's business was broadcast on national tv (CBS's "The Doctors") and received a lot of press. Press I NEVER asked for. I just got it because I take my business seriously and when you do that (the right way), other's will take your business seriously as well.

Good luck.

Thanks for your input and POV - it is much appreciated and I will take it into consideration.

Blackhat-dudette, were you ever at a murder scene where you knew who did it but the person wasn't arrested yet? Like say at a house and you said to yourself that you knew xyz was the one who did it? I like true crime books and this is really fascinating.

Hahaha, no!

To be honest, I just get there and scrub up.
I don't want to know the specifics about who is involved etc. It just wastes valuable time that I can spend booking in the next job!

Vote + when i do need you i hope you will not ask any thing and tell me how to dump the body ;)

I only work on a "no bodies present" system I am afraid - although I do have a no questions asked guarantee haha.

On the no questions asked front, we went to price up a clean where there was the stench of protein decomposition with an infestation of flies and maggots. The protein decomposition was behind a small door which we couldn't open as whatever was decomposing was blocking it, we reported back to the landlord that there was certainly decomposition present and that we could deal with it.

We got the go ahead and returned about a week later - the odour was still present, the flies were still present (although they were late in their life cycle and no young 'uns present, meaning their food source had been removed), and whatever was decomposing was ........ well...... no longer there.....

The room was empty, no signs of whatever was in there, no black bags, no ...... nothing!
There was protein staining present, which went under the flooring indicating there was definitely something there before. Now, protein will decompose until it melts away, but not in a week no matter how small the protein.

So this leaves just one plausible option, somebody went into the property and moved whatever was decomposing............... strange eh!

Are you winning? :)

Absolutely no idea buddy - I think they are intending to keep it a secret until the voting ends on Sept 28th.
I will certainly let all my BHW buddies know who won when it is revealed, even if it isn't me!!

Thanks again guys n gals. I am blown away by all of your support, and comments.

You know you could blackhat this competition.

1. Private proxies
2. Use something like Zenno to automatically click it and rotate through proxies.

Yeah to be honest I have thought about that, but then again, I am only posting on this forum asking for votes because this forum has some sentimental meaning to me as mentioned in my first post.

It would be hard to see the real impact a powerful community like this would have if I started to use proxies and automate the clicking etc. I am trying to keep it real and authentic just to see what impact we all have :-)
