I would like to get to know some music producers on this forum just for the heck of it. I have been making music for 5 years now and it has become a great part in my life. However I am not looking into being a professional music producer, its just a hobby of mine. I make hip-hop and trip-hop beats. So just wondering, who else loves making music?

Dude link me your soundcloud or something. I am a huge amateur and I want to get better. I would say my weaknesses are arrangement and song writing. I really lack creativity and self motivation. I want to create beats like dr. dre but I keep playing the same cords and it is getting annoying. I use reason 7.0 ,I also have logic pro x. What advice can you give if any?

Hey there, i make music.. i have what i think it to be a very good youtube profile with 2MIL Views and somewhat good music...
I've been making music for about 11 years since i was 12..started off making crappy trance lol and then went to Hip hop and now Trap and dubstep.

i Dabble in music production from time to time :) mainly abelton live and reason

Yes. I've been producing for 14 years now. Have a fully sound proofed recording studio, mic booth and about $25k worth of gear. Well actually, I sold off my moog and a bunch of other old analog synths when I got my virus TI2.

I also have every softsynth known to man. But mostly I just use my virus, sylenth, trillian, v-station, FM8, synth 1, ohmicide, Waves Diamond for mastering then Reason rewired with FL Studio for my mixing. That way I can layer in subtractor, combinator, maelstrom etc etc. As far as music goes I have a TON of tracks. Easily over 1000 but only about 1/4 are actually finished. And I do have a soundcloud and YT channel. But unfortunately, since I make a lot of money in this industry and have many competitors I can't share my soundcloud or youtube.

I sell literally everything from sound font packages (mostly from my virus) to FLP's ($50/pop) to multi layered sample kits.

As far as inspiration goes, I'd have to say Sean Tyas, Daniel Kandi, Simon Patterson, Nicky Romero, Alex Morph, Adam Nickey, Airbase, Alphazone, Aly & Fila, Andy Blueman, etc etc. I paid Tyas more than $800 like 6 years ago to reproduce a track in FL Studio. Then I took and flipped the FLP for $149.99. A lot of people stole the track, remixed in their own garbage then tried to sell it as their own. So again, I wish I could drop my name but I can't have people finding/copying any of my shit. I also changed the names in the 2 files below so don't bother searching:

FTR: The second track sounds a bit "dirty" (I need to cue down the distortion a bit & the break down is where I gave up) but when they're both done they'll sound proper.

Man I bought a Moog for $25 from a Pawn Shop, they figured because it looked old and analog that it wasn't worth anything.

Greatest buy ever

Man my gear is so old now it's depressing, But so cool what you can do these days with music on computers.
Mostly fiddle around with FL studio and been wanting to hook up an old Audigy card and 72-key midi trigger but spending all my extra time with classical guitar (GP6) and relearning the violin ...which so far sounds more like I'm strangling a cat.

-Been having fun lately on YT listening to mashups...there's some great stuff home enthusiasts are doing in that genre

My buddy had a 32-board collection of vintage synths years ago and used to scoure the pawns like a madman.
The Moog and Hammond were Kings of his collection.

$25 for a moog is crazy!

I've gotten some great deals from the flea market but pawn shops are suppose to know how much music gear costs... especially a well established brand like moog. I have a friend who got a voyager for $450 and I thought THAT was a great deal! lol.

As much as I loved my moog though....... once I got the virus my brain was completely hijacked.

In fact, I remember the day I got my virus better than the day I lost my virginity. I remember the box arrived on a friday. I picked it up like it was a baby, carefully laid it down and just sat in my chair for 20 minutes staring at the box. Then once I got that beast hooked up it was all over. The most serious case of goose flesh I ever got in my life. I was up till 5am that night, went to bed, slept about 3 hours, got up, then spent all day saturday and sunday switching through presets like a crack fiend.

The one thing I really love about the virus, other than it's sound and versaility, is how well it mixes with other soft synths. The virus has a very distinct, warm and lush sound. Sylenth gives you that digital, brittle, synthetic sound. But when mixed together..... you can recreate virtually any sound from the pro's.

Anyway, I'd really like to hear more peoples tunes. Especially if you want some feedback, I love analyzing peoples work.
