We can't guarantee rankings. But to check out the competition, look at the sites that are ranking on the first page of Google right now. Check their page rank and backlinks. Look to see if they are authority sites and if they've been around for a long time. Aged sites that have strong backlinks and authority can be beaten but it can take a long time. You would need to use other linking techniques such as consistent backlinking like what you can get from SEO Maximus. Also consider the keyword itself. Authority sites may rank for a long tail keyword but they may not necessarily be optimized for that keyword. You can beat such sites by optimizing your site specifically for a keyword.
