i get my visitors to add me on skype, this way i can mass message them for promotions and updates, i usually get around 500 people per skype account on a daily basis, but this past few days skype gone crazy and started banning accounts if it reaches around more than 50 contacts. i looked around the forums and found that people suffering the same issue. some contacted skype and they replied that they're taking those security measures due to suspecious activities, in other way im fucked

What service do you offer?
How many sales from those 500 people do you get?
Don't you get them to sign up to your list? Or are you using Skype instead of an auto-responder?
Always found Skype to be a distraction and a waste of time for the most part.

yea, it's definitely happening and it started about 2 weeks ago
i guess it's time to move on onto something else

actually it's a pretty convenient way to get leads if you have a skype bot for instance which is pretty much useless now
you don't need a website, basically skype is your interactive landing page, where the bot even talks to your contacts

Actually its because of your accs are being reported.
That's what i usually do when someone spam messages like this.
that's not it, it wasn't the case before
skype's bein a bitch and they're really good at it all of a sudden

Pardon me for asking but is honeybird answering for nakaam30?
yes, it was my intention to do that with the first 2 lines :)

and to shed some more lights on this issue:
basically i tried to change every variables which can cause the accs being detected and i found that it's not even the contacts you approved, but it's enough if you have a lot of contact requests w/o approving any of them, i guess this in itself throws up red flags and the acc goes under (maybe manual?) review and you're pretty much done

the accs lasted weeks before this fuckery, getting hundreds/thousands of new contacts requests daily, now you can't keep them alive for more than a few hours

Yup, that's pretty much the case, i've been testing and came to the conclusion that if u get more than 50 contact requests give or take ur account is gone, this happend on skype a few months ago, but it wasn't this harsh, accounts got banned after 200 contact requests then i don't know what happend but after a while again i was able to add more than 900 contacts without a problem...but this days it's just crazy with the banning

I've found that with Skype off 90% of the time I get tons more work done. I'm not so sure it is a good medium at all any more as the amount of interruptions that come my way when I am trying to get something done is off the charts at times.

Email FTW!

KIK is a pretty good alternative if you guys haven't tried it yet. There's a pretty good amount of users on there and they're all pretty active too. It's not quite as big as Skype, but it's not too far behind either, and I think I remember seeing an article not too long ago about how it's growing at a pretty good rate too. If Skype's going to go all Son of Sam on your accounts, maybe try telling people to add you on KIK instead.

Besides trying to wake Greg up by pinging him on Skype I have found Skype to kill productivity. So yeah
email based support is a big plus. Stay away from troll groups.

i've been thinking about using kik as well as a lot of my visitors use it, the thing is that the links and registraion forms i send them aren't optimized for smartphones hence why the app is useless for me

Skype used to be a very good way to handle leads -and a LOT of them- especially considering how simple it is to script basically every aspect of it by means of a VERY convenient API... As someone else said it's time to move on...

With that being said I must agree with the guy who wrote it's a pretty distracting tool, at least when it comes to handling random ppl known on forums that want to extort some info off you lol... Then there's the issue of who's openly listening to your convos in the middle and I gotta admit I'm not a huge fan of some entity snooping on my business strategies... Alternatives do exist, luckily... ;)

what seems to be working for me so far is virtualisation, it's alot of work but at least ur accounts won't get banned within an hour, i run 3 virtual windows sessions on each 3 skype accounts which is total of 9...so far so good

OP,
What is the age of your Skype accounts which got banned? Were they new, fresh created accounts?

You can open many skype at the same time that increase the number of contact by 20 everyday. Just make a lot of account an a month you will be setup with a thousand account

Hi, have you been able to circumvent these blocks? I just started having the same issues, can easily get 300+ people to add me, and even replying with just text (no links) will still get me terminated within 3-4 hours. I don't know what else I can do? Maybe age the accounts, grow them slower, but I haven't been able to figure anything out. Anyone else have suggestions?

the accounts i use are new, i use them right after creating them, beware skype will block ur HDD serial number after a certain amount of blocked skype accounts..i have experienced this sudden skype rage a few months ago, they started taking down accounts that reaches 200 contacts, and then they went after my older accounts, they even took down my two legit skype accounts that i use to talk to people i know and such then they blocked my HDD serial number to not access skype again, even thou they were slow about the takings down..after a while they calmed down and things went back to normal and i was able to add the ammount of contacts i used to without sweat around 1000..then recently things went crazy like that...blocking accounts with less than 50 contacts :/

They were able to track you by HDD serial number? I get the impression its as soon as you start dropping links that Skype starts banning people. I just created a new account, have 40 friends and just sitting on them going on/offline every 30 minutes. So far so good, although I bet as soon as I put links it will get deleted.

i don't think skype reads ur links, i put links in my profile the moment i setup accounts, the primary reason skype bans for is if you're approving friend requests at a high risks, even though, accounts on a fresh windows install don't trigger skype's red flags that fast, i got one skype account lasting with more than 80 contacts, but once u get ur first ban, i think they put ur computer under their radars so every account account u use later gets banned really fast..after a few bans they just ban ur computer..that's what i laerned so far
