Google "waiting period" after May 14 payday update?

I had a similar thing happen to one of my churn and burns, after the update it tanked for sometime, then it just came back after a few weeks, although it did not come back as strong, most keywords was between 1 and 2, now the same keywords keep going from 15 - 5, they seem to move a lot, but never lower than page two, and never higher than 5
I had the exact same thing happen for one of my cnb projects, 6k links found by majestic seo bl checker 12,000 MS, came back harder, first page for all targetted keywords. Bad thing for me, wordpress deleted the subdomain for spam x_x
Anyone know a good parasite page thats not wordpress that would work for cnb?

Webs is good for churn and burn.

Ey Micky, last time I tried building a webs parasite for churn and burn couldnt rank it because it was blocked by robots.

Any idea how to solve that problem?

I have a site that has been bottom page 1-page 3 for rankings for about a week now. I haven't 301's any sites to it. Should I buy a domain with decent PR and links already, blast links to it, and then 301 it? Will that make the ranks for the keywords go to page 1?

Here's a question: Anyone here have actual first hand experience with this "30 day delay" we are talking about? I have done some pretty powerful link building - way beyond of what it would normally take for me to dominate keywords of this caliber - but I am starting to get very discouraged. My sites have not budged!

So - I guess what I am looking for: How long were your sites stuck? I am sitting at over 30 days and nothing is moving (up or down). For the record - my sites were aged and established already. The only thing new to them are the juicy high PR backlinks!

In summary: Do you know for a fact there is a waiting period? If so, exactly how long is it?

I agree with nick flame, when your building for long term this doesn't matter. He'll i do very well with free social media methods starting off anyways. And it's safe

Nowhere to be seen? You should have made 2-3 similar sites to get more better results. Making 1 site for a niche is not a good way anymore. Some times, some sites will not rank no matter what you do [Something like RRF].

I have niche sites that i'm planning to make it as authority thats experiencing similar delay. Both sites, brand new domains, built around 26-27th May, good keyword research, optimised on-site, silo structure as well as around 40 pages of editorial value content. It now has around 300 long tails ranking but all KWs when hit page2-3 just stop and move one slot up and down a day. The positive side of it is that the sites are being recognised with more kw rankings but none to the top flight. All KW Medium to High Medium competition.

To answer your question, i've heard theories that its not the domain age that matters and case studies in other private forums to prove it vaguely, it the actual backlinks credibility. There isnt a waiting period, its just appears that G takes hell of a time to build your backlink picture and give you rankings rather than usual google dance we are used to....

Some of the parasite pages that I built in mid-June have started ranking now - roughly after 40 days.

The rankings are nowhere close to what I used to get with similar links before the May update.

In my opinion, there is some truth to this "sandbox" theory, but it does not apply to all pages. Also, it seems the May update was not just about the sandbox. Google also devalued spammy links.

Two things;
a) It's not a '30 day delay'
b) to your closing question - there does appear to be a waiting period, but it baffles me how it applies, when it applies, and for how long it applies.

I've been updating the thread with a site that first indexed at #22 for me on 7th July, jumped to #4 the next day, hovered 4-6 until the 24th July, at which point it went to #2 and has been there ever since.

I have also had experiences totally different to that, too - both faster/better, and slower/worse. It does not appear to be a direct function of the search volume, nor of the adwords CPC, as had been earlier speculated.

It is nothing complicated. You just need to wait more for the full effects of link building to be shown. Nothing to worry about.

Great thread guys, lots of info here. Here's my observation for one of my site:Had my old site (created on 2013-01-09) was ranking ok (first page) for several long tail keywords. Had over 80 something pages good quality content. Decided to 301 it to my newly related site (created on 04-jun-2014)First week Google needed to adjust accordingly with all the backlinks. Second week it was ranking ok. I started to build links from private networks to the newly created site. IT started to climb then after third week all my keywords were no longer ranking they were either on the 6th or 7th page. It's been stuck there ever since its July 31st today.

Lets forget the "30 days" and new domains for a second. I have been testing several sites since the update (which I feel is still rolling out) and there does seem to be a trend between, link index time and link juice flow. This is where the the delay lies. Which would indicate a lot more scanning for... related, natural and authority from G.

That's good advice. I do the same with my websites. I've had various adsense sites completely not rank in the first few months, then 3-4-5-6 months down the road take off. One of my Stock sites did that. I nearly deleted it, I was so pissed. Then at about the 5 month it took off. Hit the first page and it's been gravy ever since; one of my best sites now. Patience is key if your doing something right.

A good rule of thumb: Ignore completely how a website jumps up and down in its first 3 months as the rankings are too volatile.

Did you keep building links or just leave them?

Update:

No movement from keywords at all, just go up one or two spots and next day they go down one or two spots..

Today i added a extremely stong 301 to the moneysite, a pr4 with 6k niche related backlinks pa 32 da 43

Let's see how this goes ;-)

YESS, hit the top 3 for lots off keywords today, the redirect did the job :-)

It is the same site, with 154 pages of content divided 20 silo's, 3 of them where in the in the top 10 in the first days of link building and stayed there, now i have 12 silo's ranking top 10 and about 30/35 longtail keywords like cheap service + city, problem keyword +city

Went from 10/15 visiotor per day to 150 yesterday and i am at 75 already this morning, my not seem like high numbers to people, but for the local niche i am in it is a great result.

Do you make your silos for multiple cities and keep them with only 3 levels? Or do you create 1 website per city or possibly have 4 level Silos with multiple cities?

I bought the first plugin from Webdev but it only supports 3 levels.

Any guidance on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks
