Google "waiting period" after May 14 payday update?

How long ago was it since your rankings got stuck? I've noticed a steady and fast climbed towards page 2,3,4, just in
order to get stuck after that.

Some people seem to think that the 30 day waiting period starts as soon as you get stuck.

My situation looks like this:

-> 2 months ago, I built a lot of SAPE links. After 30 days I left them to expire.

-> 40 days ago I started with building DIFFERENT SAPE links. Finished with building these new SAPE links 20 days ago. (Some of the High PR SAPE links that was built 40 days ago already passed 30 days of "link age" today)

-> 20 days ago I built some High PR PBN links.

All that built High PR links should have been indexed within 1 week of building. (means all of them are indexed already and taken into consideration by Google)

Since then, I did not built any additional High PR links.

20 days ago I have built few hundreds of Web 2.0s and contextual backlinks, articles and so on, but they are getting indexed slowly every day. Only 10% of all these Web 2.0s got indexed until today. They keep coming every day, and let's say 30-40 get indexed every day.

I am stuck approximately last 45 days on same positions for main keywords, some keywords are stuck on page 2, some on page 3, and some on page 15.
My website traffic is increasing approximately 5% every day because every day I reach page 1 for some new long tail keyword with low search volume (<300 MS)

Don't know what to say, will I be stuck ever since High PR links are coming or ever since ANY links (like Web 2.0s with PR N/A) are coming? Means that I will stay stuck until all Web 2.0s got indexed (could take them up to 2 months for them all to get close to 100% indexed)?

Anyway, I guess I will be just waiting next few weeks. Really don't know what to conclude in this situation. All these links I currently have should dome the job and rank on page 1 within 2-3 weeks few months back.

No offense. Don't you think that situation is different before and after May 2014? Do you still rank page 1 easily after May for 3000+ MS keywords?

Yes, as I and many others have said. However the people who have been caught up with this mass hysteria only see in tunnel vision now. They ignore the plenty of people saying they have not experienced this, and continue to bang on about something which they have made up, to suit what is happening to them at this moment in time.

Oh and more to the point, do I think it is different? Well yes, many years ago when there was an actual sandbox, your website went into it for months on end, not an imaginary 30 days. Neither did it rank at all, not stuck on page two, your website was simply not searchable for.

looks like over 1 month of staying at #6 and # 34 my site is now #4 and #24 ,not sure if this is the max where it should be,still waiting for rank to be improved.

So, to conclude your words and opinion, do you think will my site ever rank on page 1? (Looking from situation that I have good on-page SEO, unique content, 15+ articles, commonly used Black Hat techniques and methods (High PR PBN home page links, SAPE, Web 2.0s for diversity, social signals, etc.)

...or I will just never reach that page 1 because something is wrong with my site or links built to my site?

If many other people didn't face "waiting period" or something like that, something is obviously wrong with sites that got "stuck", right?

I used to have a problem with my churn and burns always being stuck at page two (well before may), normally the very top. I used 301's of all kinds to move my churn and burns from the top of page two to the top places on page 1. Out of all my stuck churn and burns, all of them moved with 301 redirects.

If not that, what do you think would work as churn and burn to push stucked site to page 1?

I noticed same thing. Last discovered backlinks that are visible on GWT Links to Your Site are from 2th July in my case. But, I don't think this is problem, Google knows about newer backlinks, they are just not visible on GWT yet.

I use straight up redirects from Godaddy, and also redirects from domains with websites built on them. Also redirects from URL shorteners. Make URL shortener pyramids and blast the pyramids with do follow blog comments.

Google doesn't count up after 3 redirects. So i guess you only do short url#1 > Short url#2 > MS.

Yes a layer of URL shorteners, blasted with hundreds of URL shorteners, and the second layer blasted with do follow spam.

Yet another long term "watcher" of this thread..... I have launched 2 sites since the update, both on aged domains (2007,2010) and both are stuck on pages 5/6. Unlike others I have not been throwing tons of churn links at the sites, but branded links , some high PR wikipedia's and PBN's.

I am not sure about this "waiting period" idea? The update reminds me of the EMD penalty, and perhaps this is only an extension. As with a EMD, G knows what keyword we want to rank for and 99% of the time knows how we are trying to achieve this.

But if a EMD turns out to be a genuine "algorithmic" brand name, it will shoot straight to #1 after some time. Maybe.... this has now been applied to none EMD sites, hitting money keywords?

I am going to test this theory, slow and steady high PR links and branding to begin with, then the "usual" tiered fluff. Lets see what happens, but google always bang on about, wanting to give small companies a chance. What would a brand new "legit" company do to promote their business online? Legal registration, press releases, group activity, adverts...? Not much work but could make all the difference.

It is the same site, with 154 pages of content divided 20 silo's, 3 of them where in the in the top 10 in the first days of link building and stayed there, now i have 12 silo's ranking top 10 and about 30/35 longtail keywords like cheap service + city, problem keyword +city

Went from 10/15 visiotor per day to 150 yesterday and i am at 75 already this morning, my not seem like high numbers to people, but for the local niche i am in it is a great result.

It's not a theory. It's what everyone is experiencing and confirming the existence of. And the type of links you build doesn't matter to some extent. If you build links slowly and in a regular fashion, your sites will move up fairly quickly, but you will find it difficult to break into page 1. On the other hand, building links too fast will get your site kicked out of the SERPs for an indefinite period of time.

I know it all depends on niche, but not many people see jumps to page 1 recently so I wonder what could be the reason. It is impossible that everyone have that long waiting period.

I say you are making it way more difficult than it actually is Some of my #1 sites in competitive niches are pushing 30% main keyword...most probably the main reason they are ranking #1.

One of my site which was at #43 on 14 May, disappeared after the update for long period, later appeared at around #200 for like 3 days and disappeared again(keyword got like 300k searches), and for past 2 days it is now top 10-

Yes. I saw the same issue with another friends site using the 301 redirect method and they are stuck on page 3 and won't budge. It has been over 2 months. Not sure if this method works anymore
