Google "waiting period" after May 14 payday update?

Did you tried gsa ser? For one site i was using gsa ser links strict filters and several sape links and i ranked top 10 in less then a month. Passed waiting period without any problems. Kwd was 50k searches per month.

Don't use GSA on first tier lately. But i am sure with strict filters that would work. I use magic submitter mostly. And use gsa for tier 2. I guess the waiting period is about 30 days too.

Okay an update. After 5 weeks under this so called delay, my site is still around the page 20 mark. I thought all was lost and I was scratching around for some shred of hope.

I carried on with my original plan, adding PBN links 1-2 per week and link-building my way out of it. Well guess what, my PBN article shows up straight on page 3 for a 10k search term. No other links built, a previously unrelated website, PA = 33, DA = 25 TF/CF both around 20. There it is making my money site look like a chump.
Could be your money site is over optimized. The Panda 4.0 update was super strict re: onsite being over optimized. Video

From the look of it, it is happening with everyone now.

[related to a recently released product]

If the product is new, there won't be any aged pages related to it and thus new pages have to rank. If not yours, somebody's else new page will take the first spot.

Well whether this proves anything is again speculation with such a small sample size. However, this isn't an isolated example, another PBN link I built previously debuted at page 4 and slowly climbed down in rankings. Nonetheless, it ranked!

Others here are saying aged expired domains are incurring the same difficulties...this just isn't the case for me. It's been my new domain that has received the spanking. So from here on out, I'll be building on aged domains with good stats only, I have a number of new sites planned, so I'll be back with updates.

The waiting period is also imposed on aged authority domains. You will realise it when you try to get that PBN article from page 3 to page 1.

I would like to give some input to the debate here, I don't have many stars but I've been working full time with SEO for 4 years
so I do believe that I know what I'm talking about. Mostly "White Hat" up until recently, then I decided to do both WH and BH.

Here are some findings:

Towards the end of February I started using a SAPE service from BHW towards a domain within an extremely competitive finance niche.
It did ok, not more than that. We call this domain for "A".

At the same time, I had another SAPE service from BHW towards "B", a domain within a less competitive finance niche. It did ok, but not more than
that.

What I did was to start another SAPE service towards a third domain "C" - Targeting the same competitive keyword as "A" - However, I redirected/301ed
"A" and "B" towards "C" and bingo. The results skyrocketed.

Nothing groundbreaking yet, but wait.

As soon as "C" got penalized (manual thin content penalties), I started "D", "E", "F" etc, using the same links as towards "C" and then redirected "A" and "B"
as before. It worked like a charm.

However, in June I don't see the same results any longer (PayDay 2.0 news was launched May 20 so it makes sense), but I couldn't really figure out why.

The last couple of days in June, I noticed something very strange. Domain "A" had started ranking again, although it was redirected to domain "G". What I did
was that I pointed all the SAPE links that were pointing towards domain "B" and "G" towards "A" and I'm now #8 for this extremely difficult keyword.

Based on this, I claim the following:
- It takes approximately 4 months (in competitive niches/for competitive keywords) for the links to get effect, for you to get out of the sandbox.
- Small niches, long tails are probably not affected. (We rank #1 for a long tail "borrow-money-to-xxx" that I started last week, with only a couple of links.)
- 301s seem to be ignored (Why would Domain "A" start ranking otherwise.)
- Link age is relevant, not domain age.
- The time you spend in the sandbox is different depending on niche/keyword (which in turn is based on CPC/monthly searches for example).

What I would like to ask:
- Has anyone of you actually experienced a 30 day sandbox? I'm yet to find someone.
- I heard that regular content updates can help you. Do you have proof of this?
- Do you notice that the Top 10 positions for your competitive keyword change a lot (for me it's the same more or less).

Unfortunately, this thread has become a little bit messy so I hope we can bring back the standard. This is clearly one of
the biggest, if not the biggest issue right now so we need to figure this out together.

How can they track visitors on your website when you didn't added google analytics or webmaster tools?

Most sites and nearly all WP blogs use jquery for example. I mean this line:
googletrack1.png
There's your tracking.

Chrome is the most popular browser now. Even if it was not spyware users are often logged in.
Do you know about this url?
googletrack2.png
Frightening isn't it?

Tons of people use Android phones. By default they are logged in.

And the list goes on...

My silo site seem to have been released out of the sandbox as i saw a huge increase in traffic, lots of top 10 rankings for mid comp local keywords.

Jippieeeee !!!!

Congrats! Care to tell us a little bit more? How old are the links, how long have you been in the sandbox, competition for the keyword etc?

I already did on page 4 :)

Build a site on a domain that i registered on 2014-06-20, created 154 pages of spun content, structured it in a silo, promoted the silo with a 3 tier contextual back-link scheme (250 submitted per day per silo, 100 links per silo submitted to the inner-pages), every tier has been supported by kitchen-sink links, anchor text is 15% exact, 25% LSI 25% partial and the rest is random/general keywords.

I have 3 key phrases in the top 10 since this morning, outranking yelp and angie lists

Don't know if they stay up there, maybe they don't, but it made me $60 in leads anyway lol

The guys at Source Wave just put out a really good post about the waiting period. It's REAL, but according to their testing it's not so much about domain age as the the first day Google sees you building high power links. That's when the "waiting period" starts.

That was indeed a very interesting article, thanks for sharing.

Your findings are very similar to mine which I published in the thread I opened several days ago about the misconceptions related to this waiting period.

That might me the case because i remember one of my niches easily passed waiting period i was building links with gsa ser whole time low power, then i added some high pr and it started climbing even more i am now in top 5 for a like a month it ranked.

I stopped reading after the first five paragraphs which was all about "look at me, I am the one to listen to, I make money online" There is a name for articles like this, and it is blog fluff. The next thing that everyone starts to preach about, whether contradicting the "sandbox" or not, you can be sure they will be about it preaching too.

Congrats!

Looking at your previous post, the domain was registered on 6/20 and you built it out, including linkbuilding, on about 07/08?

If the "sandbox" period has to do with new links, looks like you came out of the "sandbox" in only 12 days. This is very encouraging.

Thanks

Congrats. I'm a bit on confused though, is this the same site you built on page 4 or is this a new site with the same technique? Because you mentioned in that post that it ranked page 1 from the beginning for 3 keywords.

I've been blasting my site with backlinks for a bit now, should have around 40k backlinks. Hopefully I'll see some results soon, hoping that Google puts me on page 1 after the waiting period.

You guys ever consider that Google might finally be figuring out that no real site gets 40,000 links blasted out at it from nowhere, and that might not be exactly helping with this penalty?
