Google "waiting period" after May 14 payday update?

This guy ranked #1 on hundred of 1k-50k monthly searches keywords with C&B. No social shit, just a ton of BL.

He lost no rankings during the 10 day period I've been checking him. Seems to be totally normal C&B, the domain is new, the site is relatively small, no social stuffs, just a lot of backlinks. Keyword is also highly searched as I said above.

According to the diagram the site was existing + links before May 14th, which means it is not related to the new sandbox. I am seeing sites created after 14th May to have the "stuck" problem, not sites before that date.

I guess mass anchor text diversity is the best way to deal within the first month so we can still grab traffic from many low search volume keywords in short time before we start optimizing for the big keywords.

I guess user-tracking is also playing huge role. This is just a hypothesis, because it really sounds logical to have 500 clicks before we got 500 links right? I've been blasting my site with backlinks for a bit now, should have around 40k backlinks. Hopefully I'll see some results soon, hoping that Google puts me on page 1 after the waiting period.

Numbers doesn't mean anything. You can bring 10 x PR6 contextual links which will be far more powerful than 200K worthless junk from comment spam and other crap. In my tests sites are staying in the "sandbox" even when I use quality links. GSA spam seems not to work as before even for parashite sites

My guess is that the "sandbox" is directly related to user metrics and if you have tons of new backlinks at the same time and just few visitors it will raise some red flag. They do track these user metrics very easily.

Nah that would be to easy to manipulate imho, if your theory was correct that i would only have to buy some crap traffic to get these numbers up and get good rankings. I still hold the theory that the waiting period is there to analyze the backlinks going to your site.

That is (imho) why you see that bouncing around the rankings, Google has some preliminary results from your backlink profile, gives you a first ranking but keeps on analyzing, depending on the amount of "crappy" and "good" links you have you will eventually, after bouncing around for a while, you get your ranking Google thinks you deserve.

And that could be much longer then 30 days, don't know where that comes from as there hasn't passed enough time since that update to really test that.

Everythinf was new. We created the channel, uploaded the video and 2-3 days later we started the spam. Then boom! 2-3 days later we are in first page.

Then I hit it with some social media about a week ago (some b.s. from fiverr) and skyrocketed to page two (2) for about a week. Then two days ago, right back down to page five. The last two years? He probably moved up due to his age and the backlinks he's built over the years. Any site built and optimized well will have no problem ranking after 2 years.

Well, with this test I can say there's something fishy with this delay in SERPs.

I got this site that I started some good 4-6 days ago and it took around 2-3 days to reach page 1 again for some longatils I am targetting.

Funny thing is that the site is nowhere to be seen for the main KW (the one with 22k searches). I want to see what happens to this site. Let's see if it gets to top3 within the next 40 days or so.

The competition is quite low and I have been using pbn links and some web2.0 here and there.

How can they track visitors on your website when you didn't added google analytics or webmaster tools?

Okay an update. After 5 weeks under this so called delay, my site is still around the page 20 mark. I thought all was lost and I was scratching around for some shred of hope.

I carried on with my original plan, adding PBN links 1-2 per week and link-building my way out of it. Well guess what, my PBN article shows up straight on page 3 for a 10k search term. No other links built, a previously unrelated website, PA = 33, DA = 25 TF/CF both around 20. There it is making my money site look like a chump.

Well whether this proves anything is again speculation with such a small sample size. However, this isn't an isolated example, another PBN link I built previously debuted at page 4 and slowly climbed down in rankings. Nonetheless, it ranked!

Others here are saying aged expired domains are incurring the same difficulties...this just isn't the case for me. It's been my new domain that has received the spanking. So from here on out, I'll be building on aged domains with good stats only, I have a number of new sites planned, so I'll be back with updates.

Yes aged authority domains rank much easier with good onpage seo but unfortunately you will be disapointed when you send links to them bec. they mostly can't get to page 1 and stuck at page 2 too. =) Tried it but of course try it and let us know if you have any diffrent results. I use pbn's, web 2.0,bookmark, press release. Sometimes sape. But i try not to build more than 300-500 links / domain. And i build them in 1 month. Not all at the same time.

Did you tried gsa ser? For one site i was using gsa ser links strict filters and several sape links and i ranked top 10 in less then a month. Passed waiting period without any problems. Kwd was 50k searches per month.
