So my lil cousin has a used Xbox 360 slim 250 GB HDD with Kinect and a controller. We called GameStop to see how much they would give him for it if he traded it in for an Xbox One.
They told him $375! That's a lot and almost pays for the X1 itself. (Now they are $399 WITHOUT the Kinect) That just leaves you $24 short (not counting tax)
There's bunches of 360s for sale on classified sites and FB yard sale groups.
All you do is get one cheap.. trade it in for a lot more.. get the X1.. then don't open the X1 and turn around and sell it online on the sites that you would buy it from.
Or you can take the X1 to WalMart or other retailers and get $400 in store credit since you don't have the receipt.
Now, I haven't tried this method but we did call and that is what they told us the trade in value would be towards an X1. Haven't called about PS3/PS4 trade in values so that might could work for that as well.
I don't have the extra cash to test this out so figured I'd share it to you guys to see if it might help.
