I used to be able to rank an 8000 monthly search term with about 10 pbn pr 2- to pr 5 links ?

That no longer seems to work. I was wondering what are you thoughts about the number of pbn links it takes for you to rank and if you feel that it is becoming harder since the last google update ?

I'm not seeing a great deal of difference after the latest Google update, PBN links are still working pretty well for me.

It could be 5 links or it could be 100 links.

It depends on how many quality links your competition has.

Maybe your pr links just aren't powerful enough. It's definetly taking longer to rank sites on page 1. Just keep shooting quality PR links with varied anchors and hopefully you'll start to see results. Also be sure to shoot some links to some of your internal pages in order to make it look natural.

It's all about quality, buddy. Look beyond PR and make sure your networked domains have good backlink profiles themselves. If it's something that you hire out for (in other words, you do not have your own PBN), then you should monitor those sites on a regular basis to make sure they are the same or better quality than they were when you paid them.

are u serious? u may missed this thread: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/686315-google-waiting-period-after-may-14-payday-update.html
oh please, already with that thread...is that Google's press release or something?

yeah, your blogs probably lost some links since the purchase date.

For the correct answer you will have to account for multiple parameters

1. Competition for the keyword
2. Quality of links from your PBN
3. Anchor text for links
4. On Page Seo - Keyword density
5. Ratio of Keyword Density in page to Keyword Density in anchor text

Plus 200 other parameters that Google uses (e.g. age of domain)

SEO is a game of measurement, feedback and constant tweaking. You will never get the "correct" answer from forums. What you will get it guidance on where to look for those answers.

I prefer homepage links personally.

At the end of the day it's not about the number of links, that's not how it works. Just add until you hit your rankings.

It depends on how strong the domains in your PBN really are.
