Hey guys,

I've been looking around BHW for Local SEO guides and similar and hit up on a few questions.

Let's assume I am trying to rank for a German local keyword (domain.de).
The website itself is in German.

Example targeted keyword: Audio kaufen Stuttgart

When building backlinks (using Web 2.0's and Social sharing sites) that are non-English, how should one do this?
Let's assume one builds 10 properties on different web 2.0's (each one will have at least one article of 500 words written in GERMAN or ENGLISH? : I would write it in German). Each web2.0 will also have filler content but still with relevant keywords in alt tags etc...

Now, let's make backlinks to the money site and these properties through Social media sites (Youtube, G+), Newsvine, Diigo, PDF directories, Slide sharing sites, etc... (tier 2)
Should the content be in English or German!? (I would go for German content).

I would write all content in German for every backlink/property/share. HOWEVER how does Google react to this; sharing non-English content on a website dominated by only-English content?

Hoping to be enlightened by gurus 8)

Also, what about blog commenting?
There aren't many German blogs to comment on. And commenting on English blogs and using a German anchor text looks weird, or doesn't Google care/know?

Is the Umloid
:
thing, allowed in german domain names by the way?

(off topic I know, so sorry)

First, did you just copy/paste that question from some other forum or something? Kind of odd you posted the same thing twice. Second, ALL your content should be in German. If you were building a PBN the sites should be hosted in Germany, but if you're using public sites you should mix in major web 2.0 and social sites that are popular in all countries (Twitter/YouTube) and ones that are smaller and appeal only to German speakers (they look more natural).

Sorry just saw it, no I've copied it to MS Word for spelling correction.
Thank you for your info!

For T1 you should write strictly in German, for T2 you can go for English but personally I also go for article types like "Purchasing audio equipment in Germany" where you can write like "To search for audio stuff in German, use search terms like audio kaufen or blahblah". I don't speak German at all so that's all a guess, but you get the idea. Not sure how much this makes difference, but this is how I tend to do it.

Terms in blog comments where the comment itself is in English... also done them, seem to work for now at least.

Doing social media in local like you want your country like germany target those group in social media located in that country, website that own by a german, like forum in german its a big help for you.

It would be good if most of your links would be from German content for example, but you can mix it with English content links, too. Don't worry about it. You can find German directories, news sites, etc.

A big thanks to everyone who replied!

Cheers
