Casinos should be treated like fun, gamble slowly and drink/get high/eat.
Don't ever expect to make money and set a win/loss limit ahead of time. Example if I win $50 I'll walk away without playing more at that moment, if I lose $50 I'm done and will not spend more (obviously scale this up according to what you can afford to lose without getting pissed about it) and stick to that. I worked at a casino when I was 22, I think, so I'd play every morning when I got off, out of tips, and you'd lose but if you had a limit it wouldn't be too much about half the time. The other half I'd win a few bucks and hit my walk away and have extra and a couple of times a month I'd hit $150-$500 and those were always good days. In the end I probably broke even or lost a little but it was fun.
Fun it was, ego is a bastard...
