Gaming Channel: inspired from Pewdiepie

Hi guys. I am a singaporean gamer. I want to grow my channel however there are many factors that is preventing me from doing so.

In Singapore, being a youtube gamer is not a common thing. It's because of our culture,time,etc.
I hope to be the first recognized gamer in my country. But I have tried asking countless of feedback from friends but they are unable to help me. I dont have a mentor nor a friend with the same interest.

The first ever gaming commentator that I saw was pewdiepie. I didnt know such a thing or a job existed. But what caught my interest is, not only did he had fun in what he does, he is being a blessing to many people. This is something I desire to do as well. ( on a small scale, I do volunteer to help and donate to needy ppl)

I have been working really hard,sometimes without sleep on trying to find out where and how can I improve in myself. The reason I worked so hard is because I have a dream. To be a blessing to many people out there. And I hope my channel can help people like what pewdiepie is doing

I need help,suggestion,tips,mentor,friend,etc or whoever can help me and coach me. its been almost a year of searching online and offline for help and I seem to be hitting the ceiling.

First of all if you are trying to target non-english audience - don't name your videos in english it's confusing at least for me. You can't be popular as pewdiepie ever because he was first popular lets player when new youtube views algorithm came out, his channel was perfect for that and youtube just promoted him automatically like crazy. However you can be very popular in your country, there is few people in my country that just copying everything from pewdiepie and they are famous youtubers and streamers. And also you will probably need to invest some money if you want a good start because without that it will be soo slooow. Feel free to add me on skype dk_fxigr if you will need to ask something.

You must understand that you are late, and the niche is very competitive. Yes, you can rank for your country but for worldwide, it will be more than difficult. Still, if you do a very good job, people will share your videos, you might get viral.

Get a good microphone (XLR not usb)
Get Fraps or Bandicam
Get editing software
Make sure your computer doesn't lag out with everything running at once
Optional: Get an HD camera for facecamming

Deliver quality content.
Like others have said there are already a ton of gamers for every game you can imagine so it's difficult to get started now.
And take Slip's advice on not naming them in english if that's not your target/
I can't even begin to explain how annoying it is to click a gameplay video and realize its all in German or something.

In case you don't know, most singaporean teenagers/grown up gamers can speak and understand english.

Back to the topic, have you tried joining any gamers forum? Look for all of these forums and ask them for advice, I'm pretty sure they can give you a more better answer on how your doing. Not only that, you also get free views from them

When I first started youtube I used to believe it was true make "quality content" people will come now I know that is the biggest load of **** sold on forums by other youtube uploaders. The truth is if your video doesn't hit the front page of the gaming section within 24hrs or your videos don't show up on the first page when someone searches for it you don't stand a chance. If it's a mainstream game like Grand Theft Auto 5 the top youtubers will be the ones found 1st you'll be lucky to be indexed on page 500 of the search

Sure everyone wants to be the next pewdiepie make millions sitting on their butts playing video games. But truth is you can't even hope to be one of top 100 channels below pewdiepie.
You have a few options:

1. Blackhat the hell out of youtube by buying views that won't get you banned

2. Get lucky and your video goes viral

3. Ask for a shoutout from one of the top gaming youtubers (probably won't happen they don't want any competition)

It's true though that there is a very very very slim chance that you will make even minimum wage quickly from a gaming channel because it's an extremely saturated market.
There are some channels that get lucky like AndrewOscarDelta, he had 15k subs, the forest came out and he is one of the only ones who uploads quality content with facecam consistently and he shot up to almost 50k subs in a short time.

You may not get lucky though.
I can guarantee if you start out thinking "I'm going to upload videos and get popular quick and make a lot of money" you're wrong, because it takes a lot of time and effort and work to get to a point where you're even known well enough to be the top result in a not very well known game.

I'm not saying you don't have to have high quality videos. Someone posting grainy videos and using a busted mic is a dumbass off the bat for thinking they'll make it. Just saying odds of making to where you can retire and just play video games are a pipe dream I looked up that andrew guy he shot up quicky he had to hit the front page or he cheated.

Agreed. Having just good content is not enough if there isnt any advertisement/distribution.

Somehow I think to advertise will be the next step after I know through friends or you guys that my video is worth watching.
