I don't mean to bump this 6-month-old thread, but I've also been target of this 1-star thread rating abuse to my sales thread, which is affecting negatively my sales.

I second the suggestion of removing the thread rating feature entirely from the forum.

Does anyone have any updates about this request being considered by the mods/admins?

This naturally doesn't effect me (not making threads there), but I can see how people can anonymously rate rivals down etc and could see why people would be against the whole system. While I don't and assume other people don't really look at thread ratings when choosing a product, it can be annoying going from 5 stars to 3 stars just because someone feels to rate it badly.
I'll let DD know and get his view on it.

I never relay on the star rating. I an others are relaying on the reviews, If you don't have sales its not becose of the low rating.

Thanks for your response. I hope this problem gets solved in a timely manner.

I've performed an extensive research and despite this issue seems to be of little importance, it is affecting greatly my sales in a negative way.

My thread went from 4-star rating to 3-star rating overnight. It seems like many people (most likely the new members) do actually rely on the thread rating system when purchasing a service on BHW's marketplace.

Staff get reports when the system is being used fraudulently or in a way to effect other sales badly and we'll look into each one on a case by case basis.
