The Cheapest Place To Vacation?

May I suggest Costa Rica?
It's really an awful place,the people are extremely nice.
Have a look,although I am not sure how much would it cost you,it wont be much.
It's cheap and beautiful.

a lot of country is cheap, if you're already there, but you should calculate the travel costs too

i just came back from a 2 week trip in Italy-Monaco-France-Spain (from Verona-Monte Carlo-Nice-Marseille-Barcelona-Milan), you wouldn't expect it, but it wasn't too expensive either
for instance we stayed in a hotel for $50/night/person with breakfast next to Monte Carlo
we spent around $6k in 12 days, but it was for 4 person
we traveled by car, so a good portion of the money went on gas
i just wrote this to prove that a one week trip for $1k for 1 person is definitely doable, but you can't choose destinations too far from you (doesn't matter how cheap they are), because the traveling costs will "kill" you

if you don't have too high standards/don't buy useless expensive stuff, you can get along on a budget even in developed countries, but then again, you need to get there somehow

I was going to say, I didn't even take into account the price of a flight to Costa Rica, so I think that's out of the picture again.

I'd rather not go somewhere like the US, it's not really a vacation in my eyes. Maybe I'm just the kind of person who doesn't need to vacation?

not necessarily, w/o knowing where you exactly reside in Canada, even a cruise can be an option, if you're into that kind of thing

Cheap holiday, try Blackpool, the Las Vegas of the North West of England.

To me, nothing beats Gulf of Mexico waters. Clearwater and Sarasota in Florida have gorgeous beaches. Clearwater also has a seedy section where you can probably find pot. lol

Welp, I'm in Ontario (Toronto to be more specific). A cruise could be nice, I'll take a look into those as well.

Hotels there are SOOO cheap, you can get ~8-10 days for $800 including food and other nice things.

Anyway, if you have more money to spend: Thailand, Mauritius (cheap), Madagascar, Hawaii (very expensive), Brazil (Amazonia).

Yes, but internet connection costs around $250 a month in Cuba, if you go there just to relax - it should be a great place though.

Honestly I was considering Jamaica, but I know the weed that they grow there is low-quality. My father is actually from St. Lucia, he's going back home in August and asked me to go with him but I want to go somewhere I'd enjoy (as opposed to going to St. Lucia just to meet some extended family members).

Sunny Beach, Burgas, Bulgaria is my recommendation for you. Why? Nice people, cheap prices & accomodation, girls, great place, etc. See ya there! Keep your money & documents safe!

I was going to recommend Countries in East Europe but then I realized Canada is so far away. Still, Canada is a huge country, why not visit something new there instead of travelling to another country. I'm sure there are nice things you haven't seen yet

Well I wouldn't think Chicago would be on that list after what happened to your brother, lol. In all seriousness though, have you thought about New York City? It's probably fairly close to you, so I wouldn't think plane tickets would be incredibly high. The price of things in the city is unfortunately, but if you only spent a weekend there you could probably manage, and it's definitely worth seeing. Good luck to ya though in your search, hope ya find somewhere fun, it's always good to reward yourself for your hard work, even better when you can take some time away and refresh.
