Got a little spare time, so I decided to start this thread.

My question is, what do you guys do when you have had a long day of marketing and it appears that you are running into brick walls that entire day ?

I am currently working on 3 projects.Today I have been doing my routine of marketing, and none of my tools are doing what I want them to do. Just little glitches and stuff, but usually if I have a glitch with one thing my other stuff will work fine so I just move on. Its not just my tools, it just has not been a good marketing day for me. I checked my stats all over and only $50 for the day.

I got frustrated with my first 2 tasks, and have not yet even moved onto my next one, which is mass mailing and I do that last because it takes the most time and computer usage. But today has been a little more like Murphy's Law. Not mentioning that I am currently at work gearing towards the end of 16 hr shift, and had to train some dickhead who most likely will not even be working here in a few days.

Sorry for the vent. back to my original question.

Do you guys keep going on until you "make the key fit in the whole" ?

Take a break for a few, and then get back to work ?

Call it quits for the night, get some rest and go at it tomorrow with a fresh perspective ?

Take a walk outside for a little while ? (Which I cannot do because I am stuck at work.)

99 times outa a hundred, getting some fresh air does me the world of good, I go for a walk, chat to a few people, have a laugh at nothing in particular. Yeah people throw garbage at me but it helps centre the thoughts, look at things objectively and find a way over, around or through the wall

i grab the uzi and go to the local skool

Well being as though I am an adult with common sense, and plus the fact that I have spent a few of my adult years in and out of jail, I really do not think that would be a smart move for me. But whatever works for you.

Best thing you can do is stick a funny DVD on, or your favorite show, grab a beer and some munch and chill out for an hour or two.

It's counterproductive to work when you're frustrated.

And that 16 hour shift! Shiiit, that's a long day, what are your normal hours? I think you have longer working days in the US, over here in the UK it's 8 hours on average and I go slightly mental after just that!

i just call it for the day.
for me the next day:
its a new day its a new beginning.

In that respect it's a lot like a poker bad beat, you gotta stop chasing your losses and know when to walk away until your head is cleared

Yeah i do the same thing... When your stressed and nothing seams to work, it probably because your frustrated...

Best option is to put you shoes on and get yourself out the house for the rest of the day, take your mind off it...

Well if it happens just one day it obviously means you need a break. But if it happens two days in a row I do some random task outside of the current project as fun/test rather than expecting anything out of it.

when am frustrated, I move out...walk around...get a 100~ miles away from my notebook...talk to ma friends...go to local restaurants, girls place (:D fav. part of being frustrated) or just move into the garden...fresh air is all wht makes ur mind clear of shit...

I play a quick round of street fighter 2 championship edition on the mame-cab I built. Its surprisingly effective because I can beat the sh*t out of the controls :)

Actually 8 hours is a normal work day here in the U.S, but I do 16 hr shifts, because I do not do anything at work. All I am doing all day @ work is my marketing. So its like I am getting paid twice. :D

Yeah, thats the plan. I am home now, just got finished eating. I keep getting that urge to stuff something, mail something, or post something. But I am going to go to sleep, and try again a little later.

When I get frustrated I like to shave...

LMFAO. Yeah weird ! Dont get to frustrated and follow up with shaving, you might get an urge to cut your throat or something.

When I got frustrated, I would try to let go for 5 minute and come back, for a couple of times. But when it get serious, I go to my living room, switch on the television, sat on my sofa and I meditate with my eyes open for 30-45 minutes before I get back.

It depends... If I get frustrated while doing something I have to finish I go for a cig. If I don't need to finish then drunk, angry sex would usually sort out any kind of frustration for days to come. If I get stressed out then there is nothing better than a game of tennis on a sunny day.

umm.... if i am super frustrated...

i generally call somebody up! and go for a walk side by side...

i discuss everything and while walking and tell whatever is on my mind while walking..

and guess what... when m repeating everything in the convo i actually find the solutions to my own problems! its like when i spread all the facts infront of my again... i have a solution right there infront of me!

and trust me... i am a workaholic! + i do 16-18hours too! and i talk more than 3-4 hours a day on the cell phone! lol

ps: people say its easier to strike a convo with me on the phone than in person... hehe
