I currently suffer from this.. how'd you start putting your ass to work?
Constantly reminding myself of what i haven't done. I first learned about marketing in the early to mid 90's as a teenager, got into the internet (of sorts) in 96/7 ish, and kind of never stop learning/reading.
This is gonna sound a touch arrogant, but i assure you it's not, but i talked someone into starting a direct mail business, who became a millionaire, about 10 years ago, that kinda annoys me enough to work. Sometimes.
I also have been around long enough to experience the birth of many marketers and their techniques, only to feel quite smug about their "weak" marketing, again to watch them become rich.
I also had the foundations in place to start an online computer software/hardware ecommerce site in 1998, which due to a major accident and a year in hospital, meant was put to one side indefinitely.
You'd think the accident would have motivated me, but if anything it made me even more laid back. Motivating myself is a constant 24/7 battle.
I just like to remind myself that i've been involved in marketing for over 15 years and have little to show for it. And then to ask myself whether i want to be another 15 years down the road with the same trappings.
