I knew this update was more about Onpage Seo. I have my clients sites exactly the same baklink profile (maybe just few of them different) some of the get hit for about 5-10 spots and the others didn't. I thought it was more about keyword density on pages but i guess its more about the outgoing links and advertisement above the fold.Also thin content sites got hit too in my opinion. Anyone agree?

Damn I've done just fine for the past year until now. Yesterday 3 of my blogs took took an epic dive. All contain unique 500-2000 word articles. My visitor count went down 50%. Meanwhile I'm seeing spammy sites and blog sites with 1 post rank above.. that's always cool...

I think they rolled both updates last week. They lie about panda was rolled today. That is why there wasn't any track. Both onpage and offpage factors effected. On the other hand again i don't belive any of these updates are valid. They are just to mess the big money terms and force adwords. But good thing is i see some of the sites come back (some not all) and i hope they understood new the algorithm was sh.t and mass spam sites is ranking great now.

Does anyone else feel like cloaking affiliate links does not work after this update?

I have a limited number of sites so I can't tell but I think this is the reason for some of them dropping.

Probably depends what technique you are using to cloak?

I agree with Scritty. My suspicion is that a major Penguin refresh took place along with the Panda update. I've got one site in particular I haven't touched a single bit of content on, but I removed a ton of toxic backlinks with zero positive SERP movement until today.

I think they are. Author has good reputation.

I'm thinking the reason I got hit is because on most blog posts I have about 2-3 links pointing to my site, with no raw urls, occasionally linking to a high pr relevant site. The reason I followed the formula is because 1 of the first blogs I posted with that formula gave me over 100k views. However most other blogs only gave me 10's or 100's of views.

Smooth sailing through all the updates for over a year and now stripped of all comfort and glory.FML.

Relax people, there is an update every day. Sometimes when they're bored they give a name to the update and that's all.

I would like to add on to what you said.

@skyrocket Google did not decide to name it and come out. Matt Cutts was forced to say something because so many people were talking and asking what the update is because the SERP's were changing so drastically.

Not much change on my end, except for 5 of my sites the main Keyword's went all over the flipping place these site's were generalized for "money niches".

Good to my penalised sites going up. I also use Bing/Yahoo for organic traffic and very steady. No updates or penguins for years..

The first PANDA was actually named the FARMER Update. This means a lot more animals. Old McFarmer had a farm and E-I-E-I--O !
