There was one PR8 (real) domain in expired domains few weeks ago, I think it was sold for around $1000. Every now and then some organization or a company drops a domain and this can be your chance

I saw a PR7 yesterday for sale by a domain flipper - 1500+ referring IP's, 1 unique referring PR9, 1 PR7, 8 PR5, 19 PR4, 28 PR3, 30 PR2, 28 PR1. Price is $2,800.

Ok, who's got a real and clean PR7 for sale then? I think most PR8 are fake PR. Like this one that is PR0 now.

In the last 1-2 years I do pretty good with the finding expired domains and despite ample amount of domains has so far not been able to find anything higher than PR7.
I think you should really lucky to catch such a domain.
Otherwise with PR4, 5,6 are relatively easy.
