why does my homepage ranking disappear ?

I check out my site today and found that the homepage ranking disappear. keyword rankin is on the 2nd page of googe during the earlier ( i check the ranking every day). Anyone can tell me how does that happens ? thanks !!

The ranking is on the 8th page. but not the homepage. it is the inner page.

I've had this happen and my best guess is that it's an over-optimization penalty of some sort. Your homepage is TOO relevant - you've built too many optimized links and/or optimized the on-page too much. This causes it to disappear from the rankings and being replaced by an inner page that's less optimized for that keyword (but still relevant enough to get some rank).
